Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The Medical Assistant will work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care. This position requires knowledge of medical terminology, basic life support, and medical administrative support.
Duties:
- Perform clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, recording patient information, and assisting with medical examinations
- Administer injections and medications as directed by healthcare providers
- Prepare patients for procedures and assist with minor surgical procedures
- Collect and process laboratory specimens
- Perform basic coding for billing purposes
- Provide patient education on medications, procedures, and general health information
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality
Experience:
- Previous experience working as a Medical Assistant in a hospital or clinical setting is preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Proficient in providing excellent patient service and communication skills
- Familiarity with medical administrative support tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient records
- Ability to accurately take vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiratory rate
Requirements:
- Completion of a Medical Assistant program or certification from an accredited institution
- Basic life support (BLS) certification
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy
