Silver Creek - Boise is Hiring an Area Sales Manager Near Boise, ID

Silver Creek Supply, a brand of Heritage Supply Group, is a fast-growing company looking for the most talented team of people that work together to deliver the industry’s best products and services. We are seeking an experienced self-motivated, service-oriented individual that is a team player and a leader as an Area Sales Manager. Silver Creek Supply is proud to serve the industries of Plumbing, Irrigation, Fencing, Hydronics, Landscape, Excavation and Hardscapes!

SALES PERFORMANCE

  • Drive the sales vision for Silver Creek and Heritage in the markets that we are in and play an active role in the annual planning process for sales budgets and goals for both, the sales staff and the branches.
  • Work closely with and utilize National Account, Commercial Services, Marketing and Sales/Process Methodology teams.
  • Understanding our markets and expand the customer base; accordingly, always look for creative ways to grow market share. Play an active management role with Territory Managers (TMs- outside sales staff) in generating new business from existing accounts and from new accounts.
  • Utilize lead generation tools-assigned and follow-up on all leads assigned to TMs.
  • Routinely develop target lists with assigned actions to TMs, follow-up timely and hold TMs accountable for results.
  • Coordinate and participate in sales blitzes, sales contests and competitions, drive competitive spirit among TMs.
  • Working with our Product Managers, District Managers and Regional V.P. to develop relationships with vendors to maximize buying potential as a tool to drive sales and create opportunities with TMs and customers.
  • Work with and drive opportunity with Branch managers on house accounts and other opportunities.
  • Drive sales growth utilizing tools available through credit reviews on assigned and “house” accounts. Work with credit department on credit lines, inactive customer lists, and helping TMs and BMs on problem credit accounts. Maintain a strong working relationship with the credit team and communicate frequently.
  • Account assignment and realignments, with vetting, for TMs as approved by District Manager.
  • Implement SAT selling program throughout the sales organization. Calendar & Account Management, Suspect, Prospect, and Customer Flow reporting and Mobile Capabilities.

COACHING, MENTORING, TRAINING

  • Help Branch Managers develop and attend frequently weekly branch sales meetings by co-managing, reviewing, and participating in the content and meetings actions.
  • Take the lead on upgrading and attracting new TM talent to our sales team and on board all new TMs providing all the necessary tools to be successful.
  • Train, mentor, and coach all TMs, actively participate in TM ride-a-longs/joint calls and observe TM actions with customers and prospects- listen and observe cold calling techniques and prospecting skills. Maintain an active mentor/mentee relationship with all TMs.
  • Take the sales lead and coordinate with the District Manager and Branch Director on all new Greenfields. Aid in recruiting top talent, create sales plans and identify customers, and assist with market development, organize sales blitz and grand opening events.
  • Working with vendors and others to create and develop product trainings. Include Branch Managers and branch staff for product trainings whenever possible.
  • Plan and host regular TM trainings and sales professional development meetings with TMs and continually convey new sales techniques, strategies, and opportunities.
  • Convey and mentor TMs to understand the Silver Creek and Heritage stories and the strength of the company, logistics, capabilities/service levels and product knowledge that we are about so they can instill confidence and knowledge to our customers.

PRICING and MARGIN OPPORTUNITY

  • Work with the District Manager, Product Managers and Branch Managers on pricing and margins. Taking the lead with the sales team on pricing initiatives with a strong focus on selling margins overall. Always look and inspire creative and effective ways to improve customer profitability. Train TMs to be a true business partner with our customers.
  • Utilize monthly sales and marketing product promotions as opportunities for improving profitability and increasing sales of focused products.

REPORTING

  • This position will report directly to the District Manager of Silver Creek Supply.
  • This position will require traveling to each of our locations and meeting with our TMs and BMs routinely, in all our markets.
  • This position will also require setting up and attending customer events, attending Silver Creek Supply leadership meetings and Heritage national events.

REQUIREMENTS

  • High School diploma/equivalent, or Bachelor’s degree in Landscape is preferred. (Not mandatory)
  • Industry experience
  • Able to pass background check and pre-employment drug test.
