- Make proactive decisions and implement best practices in accordance with the SBSK Afterschool Program standards
- Manage and provide on-site supervision, leadership and training for children, Afterschool Assistant Program Coordinator, Afterschool Youth Development Leaders, Assistant Afterschool Youth Development Leaders, and Volunteers
- Manage program schedule to meet SBSK standards and requirements
- Maintain student enrollment, attendance, and behavioral records
- Actively recruit students for a full program and maintain enrollment at 90-100% capacity at all times
- Maintain an active student enrollment waitlist
- Secure classroom and facility use appropriate for program needs
- Ensure all facilities used are maintained and cleaned as required
- Prepare supplies and materials for daily programming
- Assess and maintain program supplies and equipment on a regular basis
- Prepare and facilitate large group activities and games
- Implement and support the discipline system utilized by SBSK
- Communicate with parents concerning their child/children’s participation in the program as needed
- Supervise children left after 6:00pm and contact parents and/or necessary authorities regarding their pick-up
- Attend CPR and First Aid training as requested
- Report any suspected abuse or neglect of SBSK students to a supervisor and the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services hotline at 1-800-252-5400 or https://www.dfps.state.tx.us/contact_us/report_abuse.asp
- Communicate promptly and effectively with supervisor, Afterschool Assistant Program Coordinator Afterschool Youth Development Leaders, Assistant Afterschool Youth Development Leaders, volunteers, and coordinating parties via email, face-to-face contact, and/or phone communication
- Coordinate with the Volunteer Department Staff to place volunteers on campus
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures due to COVID-19 that have been put in place to minimize risk
- Facilitate a positive, productive and supportive work environment on campus
- Plan and lead weekly Afterschool Team meetings
- Lead staff training events each semester alongside other staff members
- Serve as a liaison by facilitating communication between SBSK staff, volunteers, parents, other on-site programs, and A.I.S.D. Staff
- Collect and enter student data into the SBSK data reporting system in a timely manner
- Review payroll hours for SBSK Afterschool Staff and approve on a weekly basis
- Complete and submit weekly reports to supervisor
- Notify supervisor(s) of emergencies and risky situations in a timely manner
- Communicate human relations issues regarding Afterschool Youth Development Leaders, Assistant Afterschool Youth Development Leaders, and volunteers to supervisor(s) and Human Resources as needed
- Attend weekly Afterschool Team meetings
- Attend supervisory meetings as requested
- Attend training and professional development as requested
- Experience working with children and/or youth in a school setting, afterschool program, or mentoring program
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Familiarity with Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets and Google Calendar
- Ability to move around a classroom with ease and be accessible to students
- Ability to bend, reach, or stretch for supplies and/or other various objects, as well as lift, carry, and move at least 40 pounds
- Strong people and project management skills
- Exceptional communication skills
- Ability to supervise, problem solve, and make sound decisions
- Comfortable speaking and presentation style
- Ability to accept constructive feedback
- High level of professionalism and strong organization skills
- Reliable transportation to program site
- Bilingual (English-Spanish) speaking candidates highly encouraged to apply
- Associate’s and/or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field or equivalent experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Personal relationship with Jesus and communing member of the body of Christ
- Understand and be able to support a Christ-centered curriculum that communicates the Gospel
- Training and equipping available on how to share the Gospel, once employed at SBSK understand, agree, and promote SBSK values
