The North America Powder Area Finance Manager position is accountable for developing, implementing, and managing the financial controls, practices, and procedures that are consistent with Division and Corporate policy which provide management with timely information. This position will support the Arlington, TX, Grimsby, ON, Grove City, OH, and Rockford, IL powder coatings plants.
Major Tasks:
  • Develops systems to track and report site financial performance.
  • Manages all accounting and data processing activities.
  • Creates the annual operating plan for all support sites in conjunction with those sites’ respective Financial Analysts.
  • Serves as the financial lead and primary pillar head for the Grove City, OH plant’s annual physical inventory process.
  • Reviews financial data for accuracy, and ensures expenses and salaries are in line with budget and/or provides explanation variances.
  • Maintains detailed and accurate site financial records.
  • Develops, mentors, and coaches subordinates (four Financial Analysts, one Finance Processor).
  • Partners with Plant Manager and Area Controller in setting goals, writing appraisals, and providing training requirements in a timely manner for all subordinates.
  • Serves as a Business Partner with site staff, Financial Shared Services, and vendors to ensure vendor set-up and payment is prioritized through the Buy Right Coupa system.
  • Participates in Management Review, Corrective Action and Employee Communication Meetings.
  • Provides return on investment analysis for all ROI capital projects and assists with the development of the annual capital plan.
  • Reconciles capital spend by comparing subledger detail to planned capital spend; assists site maintenance / engineering staff in forecasting capital spend in PFP.
  • Prepares the weekly financial flash and monthly forecast for the purpose of Division planning, as required.
  • Prepares monthly General Ledger entries and manage physical inventory to maintain an accurate and timely accounting of Division financial information.
  • Collaborates with plant Continuous Improvement resources and Project Leads to develop OP-16 savings and Schedule G execution.
  • Organize and report-out key capacity project CAPEX spend at the Arlington, TX and Grove City, OH plants.
  • Travels between the Arlington, TX, Grove City, OH, Grimsby, ON, and Rockford, IL plants as required.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country for which you are applying for employment without now or in the future needing sponsorship for employment visa status
  • Must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Must have experience creating spreadsheets and graphs.
  • Must have at least 3 years of accounting/finance experience.
  • Previous supervisory/managerial experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience using Microsoft Office products including Excel.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Systems experience in QAD, Batch Tracking, On-base, AOM, Business Objects and/or Six Sigma
