The Area Manager is responsible for the performance of multiple accounts in a geographical area within our company based on the scope of the contract or building. Overall duties include managing the completion of projects, scope of work, contractual requirements, conducting inspections in all departments and buildings. Responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, supervising, and scheduling staff, organizing and monitoring work processes to ensure that employees understand their duties and delegated tasks. Additional duties include planning, monitoring, evaluating job results, coaching, and disciplining employees, and serving as the first point of contact for clients. Area Managers must be highly organized, dedicated, and able to handle a variety of duties simultaneously.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Responsible for monitoring and responding to any day-to-day needs of the assigned accounts or buildings in a diligent time frame.
· Travel to accounts within geographical area as needed to meet with customers or employees and to ensure quality of work.
· Train Account Supervisors or Account Managers on Scope of Work and company initiatives.
· Recruit employees in order to maintain proper staffing levels based on scope of work/budgets to ensure quality of service.
· Schedule day-to-day staffing, periodic services, and special project needs.
· Evaluation of employees’ performance.
· Maintain a transparent line of communication with property contacts and District Manager.
· Escalate client/ contract concerns as needed to District Manager and/ or Regional Director of Operations.
· Overall cost control responsibility of chemical and consumables budgets, as well as the labor budget.
· Order chemicals and supplies according to budgets.
· Follow-up with customers and team member requests and concerns in a timely manner.
· Identify issues and opportunities by performing inspections on a regular basis.
· Create action plans to correct any issues identified to create a sustainable operation.
· Supporting any facility and/or team in regular staffing duties during emergencies.
Skills Required
· Be able to lead multiple teams to ensure daily tasks, project work, requests and work orders are completed on time and within company and customer expectations.
· Be polite and respectful with clients, guests, and co-workers.
· Maintain a friendly and safe work environment.
· Manage the “day to day” activities, ad hoc requests, etc.
· Strong knowledge of Microsoft office suite: Word, Excel, Outlook, Microsoft Teams, etc.
Experience
· Minimum of 7 years of experience working in a janitorial capacity required.
· Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a supervisory capacity preferred.
Education
Must be 18 years of age.
Bi-lingual: English & Spanish preferred.
Work Environment/Hours
A full-time exempt (salary) position.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to lift items of up to 35 lbs. while moving around and perform other physical duties (i.e., climb ladder, lifting, bending).
· Ability to adapt and work as a team to ensure daily tasks, project work, requests and work orders are completed on time and within company expectations.
· Ability to spend up to 100% of the working time standing and walking.
