Job Title: Registered Nurse - Cardiac MedSurg

Rate: $3,840 Weekly

Shift: 48hrs - 4x12hrs - D/E/N Rotating Shift

Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Cardiac MedSurg team. As an integral member of the nursing staff, the RN will provide specialized care to patients with cardiac conditions in the MedSurg unit. The ideal candidate will demonstrate clinical expertise, critical thinking abilities, and a passion for delivering patient-centered care.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' cardiac status, including vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and physical examination findings.
• Monitor cardiac telemetry and interpret electrocardiogram (EKG) results to detect changes in patients' condition.
• Administer cardiac medications, including antiarrhythmics, anticoagulants, vasodilators, and diuretics, as prescribed by physicians.
• Ensure accurate dosing, administration routes, and patient education regarding medication effects and side effects.
• Work closely with the interdisciplinary healthcare team, including physicians, nurse practitioners, respiratory therapists, and pharmacists, to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
• Coordinate care transitions and facilitate communication among team members to optimize patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and their families about cardiac conditions, treatment plans, lifestyle modifications, and self-care strategies to promote cardiac health and prevent complications.
• Provide emotional support and counseling to patients coping with cardiovascular disease and their families.
• Anticipate and respond effectively to changes in patients' cardiac status, implementing appropriate interventions to stabilize patients and prevent clinical deterioration.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to address complex medical issues and facilitate timely referrals to specialty services as needed.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of nursing assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic health record (EHR).
• Communicate effectively with the healthcare team through verbal reports, shift handoffs, and interdisciplinary rounds.

Requirements:

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of NY.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with a focus on cardiac care or Medical Surgical nursing preferred.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS certification preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment skills, with the ability to recognize and respond to changes in patients' cardiac status promptly.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Commitment to evidence-based practice, continuous quality improvement, and professional development in cardiac nursing.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment, prioritizing patient safety and quality of care.
