Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medsurg Psych Registered Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team in Rochester, NY. This role is perfect for a versatile nurse who can excel in both medical-surgical and psychiatric settings. The successful candidate will work 36 hours per week, with rotating shifts including days, evenings, and nights.

Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients with both medical and psychiatric needs. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
• Safely administer medications, monitor for side effects, and ensure compliance with treatment protocols.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify patient needs and develop individualized care plans. Monitor and document patient progress and response to treatment.
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure holistic patient care.
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff. Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
• Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatments, and medications. Provide emotional support and guidance to help them cope with their conditions.
• Respond promptly to psychiatric emergencies and provide appropriate interventions to ensure patient and staff safety.
• Maintain accurate and thorough patient records, including assessments, treatments, and nursing interventions.

Requirements:

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New York.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical-surgical and/or psychiatric nursing.
• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required. Additional psychiatric nursing certifications (e.g., PMH-BC) are preferred.
• Strong clinical skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, including days, evenings, and nights.
