Overview:

Job Description
Serve the People is seeking a highly skilled Accounting Assistant with experience in the medical field to manage our financial operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, analyzing financial data and preparing financial reports.We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Assistant to join our team. As an Accounting Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our financial operations and ensuring accurate record-keeping. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about accounting and eager to gain valuable experience in a professional setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Accounting Assistant will act as a point of contact between the different parts of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and external parties, such as vendors, clients, or lenders
  • Process bookkeeping, assist in preparing financial reports, taxes, audits, and resolving discrepancies
  • Preparing weekly, monthly, and yearly financial reports and budgets
  • Manage Grant Receivables and reconcile Grant Accounts on monthly basis
  • Maintain and update general ledger entries as well reconcile General Ledger accounts
  • Ensure that all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner
  • Monitor and report on financial performance and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Collaborate with other departments within the medical organization to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures
  • Prepare and file all necessary financial statements and tax returns ensuring compliance with regulations and laws
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable including invoice processing payments processing and collections
  • Prepare and submit reimbursement claims to insurance companies and other third-party payers
  • Manage the organization’s payroll & benefits, and help with Annual Audit
  • Manage other duties as assigned by management

Requirements

Experience & Education

· Associate’s degree in accounting/finance. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is a plus

· Must have at least 1 years’ experience in an accounting/accounts payable environment

· Experience in a community health center or FQHC preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial analysis techniques

· Experience with financial reporting and budgeting

· Must have at least 1 years’ experience in an accounting/accounts payable environment

· Individual must have strong interpersonal, organizational and analytical skills

· Ability to troubleshoot and analyze invoice/payment issues

· Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Office, Word, Excel, and Internet applications

· Previous experience with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions

Certificates & Licenses

· Must provide valid document(s) to work in the US.

Salary

· 55,000-65,000 Annually depending on experience

Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is typically required to regularly conduct work in a controlled office environment, moving around the office as needed, sitting at a desk, using office equipment, including but not limited to a personal computer, fax machine, copier and telephone, read, write, listen, speak, and understand English, have the ability to work independently, be dependable and maintain confidential information, integrity and composure at all times.

Constant contact with individuals internal and external to the organization occurs via various methods of communication, typically including face-to-face discussions, electronic mail, phone calls, written letters and/or faxes.

The employee is expected to be self-directed, take initiative and be persistent when appropriate to accomplish necessary duties and keep busy without prompting. Additionally, the employee is expected to be adaptable/flexible to changing work assignments, analytical, organized and detail-oriented, perform multiple tasks at once, compose correspondence and other documentation in a professional manner, express ideas constructively, actively listen to others, manage time effectively and efficiently to meet deadlines, learn and memorize procedures, display a cooperative attitude, read, understand and follow all company, job specific and safety policies/procedures, and attend/use all required training.

COVID-19 Considerations

· STP currently follows all CDC guidelines. All STP employees are required to wear masks in the office irrespective of vaccination status.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
