The Senior Payroll Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for the organization. This includes calculating wages, deductions, and taxes for employees, as well as maintaining payroll records and resolving any discrepancies. The position plays a crucial role in ensuring that employees are paid correctly and on time, which is essential for maintaining employee satisfaction and compliance with labor laws. Additionally, the Senior Payroll Specialist may be responsible for providing payroll-related support to other departments, preparing payroll reports for management, and assisting with audits to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance. By effectively managing payroll processes and staying up-to-date on relevant laws and regulations, he or she will help to minimize errors, reduce financial risks, and contribute to the overall financial health and stability of Servco.
Responsibilities:

• Oversees the payroll processing for the organization
• Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll, including calculating wages, deductions and taxes
• Responsible for maintaining payroll records, resolving discrepancies and staying up-to-date on relevant laws and regulations
• Prepares payroll reports and assists with annual audits
• Provides support to other departments on payroll-related matters
• Reviews quarterly tax filings for completeness and accuracy
• Works with manager to reconcile annual W-2s and any associated corrections

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 5 years of work experience in payroll processing and administration or accounting
• Certified Payroll Professional preferred
• Experience in Workday payroll systems preferred
• Proficient in Excel
• A detail oriented and analytical individual who is deadline driven and organized
• Ability to maintain discretion and professionalism
• Effective time management and problem solving skills
