PROJECT MANAGER

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PROJECT MANAGER

As our Project Manager, you will report to the Director of PMO and be an active participant in creating and executing project work plans, identifies resources, manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project and enforces project standards. Duties include but not limited to:

  • Reviews deliverables prepared by team before passing to customer.
  • Effectively apply ISO standards.
  • Attend in person meetings with Program Management Office.
  • Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
  • Tracks and reports team hours and expenses on a weekly basis.
  • Manages project budget.
  • Identifies business development and "add-on" sales opportunities as they relate to a specific project.
  • Participates in proposal efforts including completing project scoping and LOE assessments.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR A PROJECT MANAGER

  • High School diploma, or equivalent, required. Associates degree from an accredited institution preferred.
  • Additionally, at least 2 years of demonstrated experience in leading projects, understanding of project life cycle and budgeting.
  • At least two years of experience in leading or managing personnel.
  • Experience with MS Office applications.

ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to convey complex technical information in an easily understood manner.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to interact at all levels of the organization and with customers.
  • Able to attend in person customer meetings bi-weekly and ad hoc as needed.
  • Strong detail-oriented skills; able to multi-task and change priorities quickly.
  • Able to demonstrate a broad understanding of deliverables and project interdependencies within all departments, able to grasp the scope of each project and its organizational impact.
  • Able to represent the company clearly and professionally both to the public and to the employees.
  • Ability to meet Safe Driving Requirements, valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to work designated schedule, as well as maintain attendance and punctuality.
  • Able to obtain related certifications and security clearances.
  • Initiative-taking; able to proactively manage and prioritize assigned tasks as well as recognize areas for improvement, determine next steps and execute.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.

SPECIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Able to lift a minimum of 60 lbs.
  • Able to work in outdoor environment exposed to varying high or low temperatures.
  • Must have sufficient physical agility to walk, climb, stand, crawl, and stretch on a continuing basis.
  • Able to travel 25 - 35% of the time.
  • Able to work at moderately high heights, up to 40 feet above the ground using bucket trucks, scissor lifts, and ladders.
