Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Estimator/Project Manager to join our team. Being a part of the Estimating and Project Management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the estimating process, project procurement and project delivery. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction estimating and project management, specifically in the painting, wallcovering, and drywall trades.
Duties:
- Utilize PlanSwift software to prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects
- Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine project requirements
- Collaborate with project managers, vendors, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for accurate bidding
- Analyze labor, material, and equipment costs to develop comprehensive estimates
- Conduct site visits to assess project scope and identify potential challenges or opportunities
- Prepare bid packages and submit proposals to clients within designated timelines
- Negotiate contracts and pricing with subcontractors and suppliers
- Monitor project costs throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to budget
- Provide guidance and support to the estimating team, including training and mentoring
Requirements:
- Proven experience in construction estimating, preferably in a managerial role
- Proficiency in PlanSwift software or similar estimating software
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and techniques
- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy
- Reliable and dependable
- Problem solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
