The ideal candidate for Program Director has previous experience supervising programs for families and providing parenting services for men, collaborating with community partners to insure holistic, quality services, is committed to working in neighborhood-based services with low-income families and is capable of independently managing a program while working as a member of a team. Responsibilities include:

• Provide mission focused administrative and clinical leadership for the program.
• Provide supervision and training of staff; manage HR related processes.
• Lead program in implementation of best practice models.
• Identify community needs and innovate services in response.
• Collaborate across SCO program areas to enhance relationships and effective practice with shared families.
• Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with community-based organizations and public agency partners.
• Participate in, and advocate organization’s priorities, at DYCD, ACS and other meetings and coalitions.
• Communicate program objectives, priorities, and progress to the appropriate individuals.
• Provide individual counseling sessions and co-lead parenting groups.
• Manage small caseload of clinically challenging clients.
• Directly manage crises and provide coverage for client care as needed.
• Manage intake process and recruitment and retention strategy to meet contract requirements.
• Provide outreach in community.
• Collaborate with internal departments including Human Resources, Business Operations, and Finance, IT, QI, and others.
• Track program spending aligned with budget.
• Use data to set performance goals and measure outcomes.
• Liaise with DYCD including audit preparation and response.
• Participate in Family Dynamics leadership team to develop strategic planning and service integration.
• Serve as a member of the SCO Brownsville Council focused on service integration and collective impact in Brownsville.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work, counseling, human services, or related field; LMSW preferred.
• At least 5 years supervising or directing family focused programs.
• Previous direct service work with men and families.
• Demonstrated group facilitation skills.
• Preference given to candidates from the communities in Brooklyn primarily served.
• Self-initiated, motivated, and well-organized.
• Possess a social justice perspective and ability to collaborate with culturally and socioeconomically diverse groups.
• Excellent writing and communication skills.
• Facility with data systems and Microsoft Office tools.
• Flexibility to work evenings and Saturdays.
