Job Title: Facilities Manager
Department: Operations
Reports To: COO
Salary: $45,000 to $55,000
Hours per week: Full-time 40 hours per week
Job Overview:
SafeNest is seeking a dedicated Facilities Manager to manage our facilities and ensure a safe, clean, and supportive environment for our residents. This pivotal role encompasses overseeing maintenance, inventory, food services, and safety protocols across our shelter locations, focusing on providing exceptional care and meeting the specific needs of our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Operational Leadership:
  • Coordinate day-to-day facility operations across all SafeNest sites, ensuring seamless integration of services for Clients and staff.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for facility-related communications with the leadership team, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • Resident-Centric Systems:
  • Design and implement systems to support Clients' basic needs, including housing, nutrition, and general well-being, with a particular focus on cultural and dietary preferences.
  • Maintenance Management:
  • Develop and manage comprehensive maintenance schedules to maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety.
  • Oversee all repairs, renovations, and compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Food Service Oversight:
  • Manage the shelter's food service operations to ensure the provision of healthy, appropriate meals for residents, accommodating diverse dietary needs.
  • Safety and Compliance:
  • Implement and maintain emergency preparedness procedures, including safety audits, Emergency Action Plans, and the provision of Go Bags.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including OSHA standards.
  • Vendor and Contract Administration:
  • Manage relationships with external contractors and service providers, ensuring contracts are executed according to organizational needs and standards.
  • Inventory and Resource Management:
  • Collaborate with the Donation Center Warehouse to manage supplies and resources effectively, ensuring timely availability for resident needs.
  • Team Management:
  • Provide leadership and development for direct reports, including maintenance and food service staff, overseeing their performance and professional growth.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred and/or:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in facilities management, with a strong background in managing residential or care facilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information and create supportive environments for vulnerable populations.
  • Proven skills in project management, vendor management, and emergency preparedness.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and facility management software.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to engage in physical activities such as lifting (up to 25 pounds), walking, and climbing stairs regularly.
