Saab is Hiring a Program Manager Near San Diego, CA

Job Description:

Saab's Strategy Office in San Diego, CA is seeking a dynamic, results-oriented Program Manager (PM), to support the operations of our organization.

The successful candidate will apply demonstrated knowledge of program/project management principles and concepts to resolve a variety of issues like operational management, client engagement, and technology program management. To be successful in this role you must be comfortable managing ambiguous tasks, be able to wear multiple hats, adapt quickly when needed, and be able to communicate the team's message across the organization.

Responsibilities will include but may not be limited to the following:

  • Work directly with Chief Strategy Officer to execute strategic initiatives.

  • Support development and execution of technical program plans that span needs of the team's naval/maritime and digital lines of effort.

  • Create technical and non-technical communication materials that summarize division-wide results to management and senior leadership teams.

  • Manage day-to-day on-site operations of division and wear multiple hats to ensure team can accomplish goals.

  • Serve as main on-site point-of-contact with communications, tradeshow leads, IT, finance, and purchasing organizations across Saab, Inc.

  • Build relationships in the customer community to service existing programs and serve as primary liaison to support customer visits and demonstrations of hardware and software technologies.

  • Own accountability for cost, schedule, and performance of assigned programs.

  • Provide consistent leadership to the program execution staff to ensure effective and efficient execution of assigned programs.

  • Work with team leadership to ensure that the lines of effort teams are adequately equipped to achieve program objectives and make recommendations in support of key business objectives.

Compensation Range: $104,300 - $133,000

The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.

Skills and Experience:

The successful candidate will:

  • Have the strong ability to manage ambiguous tasks and identify solutions.

  • Be able to work in a dynamic team environment.

  • Be self-motivated, inquisitive, organized, flexible, and thorough.

Skills And Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required; preferably in Business, Engineering or other related discipline.

  • 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in program/project/client management.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong ability to use Microsoft PowerPoint for technical storytelling

Citizenship Requirements:

Must be a U.S. citizen. Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
