Pride Now is hiring for a Maintenance and Utilities Manager for one of our Food Manufacturing clients in Chicago, IL.

Salary range: $92k to $120k per year.

Job Summary:

Your goal will be to ensure that the site manufacturing & support activities, without interruption, without any facilities shortages and/or any issues thereof. You will achieve 100% compliance to Local legal regulations, Quality, Health Safety & Environment management systems and standards. You are responsible for the management and maintenance of site facilities, buildings and equipment(s) (hardware & software).

More about this role:

The Utilities Maintenance Manager is directly responsible for improving the total uptime performance of the site’s Utilities assets by managing the preventative/predictive maintenance programs, stationary engineers, maintenance planners, and third-party resources. Proactively optimize cost-effective maintenance & reliability in support of L6S and business deliverables, as well as providing technical training opportunities for all associates to increase skill and knowledge.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Supports the plant teams in reviewing/developing operating standards, and work processes.
• Manage Boilers, Ammonia Systems, Compressed Air, HVAC, and Wastewater Treatment.
• Proactively evaluates & leads refinement of overall equipment reliability plans, strategies, equipment performance & RCA effectiveness.
• Manages overall utilities maintenance to ensure the most effective use of resources & funding balanced for both short & long-range plans.
• Manages area budget.
• Coordinate equipment and building facility maintenance activities at the plant, including capital projects with the support of corporate engineering to maximize equipment reliability, efficiency, and cost.
• Ensure that all maintenance activities are executed with adherence to/implementation of people safety and risk management regulations and procedures, according to the company policies and OSHA recommendations.
• Purchase, expedite, and install equipment with or without outside contractors.
• Responsible for ensuring products are produced following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Is responsible for ensuring that all applicable safety and GMP procedures are understood and adhered to.
• Is responsible for ensuring that all food safety and quality issues are brought to the immediate attention of the Quality Manager
• Coaches, mentors & develops staff.

Requirements:

• Engineering Bachelor’s degree or similar.
• Five years of experience in a similar position; technical experience in maintenance is required.
• Previous experience with Proactive Maintenance and other Integrated Lean Six Sigma pillars is an asset.
• Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) is a plus.
• Demonstrated hands-on leadership and coaching abilities – able to demonstrate several examples of empowering, developing & motivating people.
• Effective problem-resolution skills combined with “big picture” awareness.
