Job Title: OV Utilities Tech (Construction)
***Work Location: Atlanta, GA ***
Salary: Based on experience and will be discussed with manager in interview
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for technical oversight and coordination with Utility Owners and performance and compliance with implementation of Memorandums of Understanding.
  • Lead the coordination efforts with Utility Owners, addressing technical queries, resolving conflicts, and ensuring efficient utility verification processes during construction.
  • Conduct advanced verification of utility plans, designs, and as-built documentation to ensure compliance with GDOT standards and specifications.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, construction teams, utility companies, and regulatory agencies, demonstrating a high level of expertise and leadership throughout the Owners Verification process.
  • Direct the collection and documentation of relevant data regarding utility conflicts, relocations, and any deviations from approved plans. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for reporting purposes.
  • Implement advanced quality assurance measures to ensure the accuracy and completeness of utility-related documentation and adherence to GDOT standards.
  • Identify, assess, and proactively mitigate potential risks associated with utility conflicts or deviations. Demonstrate strategic thinking to address complex challenges.
  • Provide mentorship and advanced training to construction teams and contractors on utility-related Owners Verification requirements and best practices.
  • Prepare in-depth and comprehensive reports on utility verification activities, including findings, recommendations, and compliance status. Deliver presentations to project stakeholders as needed.
Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Utility Management, or related field
  • Relevant certifications in Utility Verification or Construction Management are highly desirable.
  • A minimum of 10 years of practical experience in utility verification, construction inspection, or a related field, with a demonstrated track record of leadership in complex projects.
  • Experience with GDOT projects and procedures is strongly preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in using relevant tools and technologies for utility verification. Extensive knowledge of GIS systems and utility management software is required.
  • In-depth understanding of federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to utility management in construction projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey advanced utility verification requirements to diverse stakeholders.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accurate and precise verification of utility plans and documentation.
