Summary:

Apply architectural technical expertise to lead (and often self-perform) design and drafting/modeling/rendering for a variety of commercial (mostly hospitality-related) projects. Assist/work closely with the Manager of Design & Brand Strategies, Procurement Dept., and other associates as needed for effective proactive collaboration. Conduct plan review, product research, code analysis, permit expediting, and inspections for quality control. Ensure comprehensive and seamless progress from initial conceptual design to contract document development to permit to construction to completion/opening. Manage FF&E/FF&A procurement.

Responsibilities:

• Meet with all project-relevant parties; determine design parameters, the overall scope of work, & (preliminary) material/product specifications; and prepare conceptual design/design direction.
• Whenever most efficient, self-perform AutoCAD drafting or Revit modeling.
• Prepare (at least preliminary) budgets and schedules for projects and assist with value engineering.
• Typically for large or complex projects, prepare comprehensive RFPs for design consultants, manage consultant vetting, bidding, & negotiating process, and prepare clear and comprehensive contracts by RH&R guidelines.
• Coordinate selected design consultants (e.g. architects and/or engineers), delegate sensibly, and ensure efficient production of all deliverables.
• Review, approve, and track invoices/pay apps by RH&R guidelines.
• Manage development of project specifications and permit documents, and expedite permitting.
• Efficiently review and mark up all types of drawings (plans, elevations, sections, details, shop drawings, etc.) and associated notes, charts, & tables.
• Provide construction administration services (e.g. QC inspections, facilitate supplemental info & responses to RFIs, assisting/manage submittal process, review shop drawings, etc.) as needed.Manage FF&E/FF&A procurement as needed [some or all steps
