A facilities service organization is seeking to hire a Payroll Manager. The ideal candidate will have 7-10 years of full cycle Payroll processing experience. Additionally, ideally looking for someone who has experience with Union Payroll and has construction and/or manufacturing industry experience. Though this is a payroll manager position, you will only have 1 direct report, so need to be comfortable being in the weeds.
Duties:
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing, including data entry, calculation of wages, and preparation of payroll reports
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
- Process and reconcile payroll deductions, such as taxes, benefits, and garnishments
- Prepare and distribute employee paychecks or direct deposits
- Maintain accurate payroll records and employee data in the payroll system
- Collaborate with HR to ensure accurate employee information and resolve any discrepancies
- Reconcile general ledger accounts related to payroll and prepare journal entries
- Assist with year-end payroll processes, including W-2 preparation and reporting
- Provide support for audits related to payroll records
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll management or related role
- Strong knowledge of payroll systems such as Ceridian or Paychex
- Proficient in general ledger reconciliation and journal entries
- Familiarity with accounting principles and practices
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other office software applications
- Experience with QuickBooks or other accounting software is a plus
