The Robert Half Healthcare Practice is working to find a Fully-Remote, part-time Medical Billing Specialist to join a healthcare practice. The position will be 2-3 days a week (which days can be flexible).Hours: 8am-5pm EST for the first 2-3 weeks then 8am -12pm EST after that.Responsibilities for the position include the following:Accurately and efficiently process patient insurance claims using appropriate medical codes.Submit claims to insurance companies electronically and track their status.Follow up on denied or delayed claims and appeal them as necessary.Post payments and reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy.Generate invoices for patient co-pays, deductibles, and other outstanding balances.Collect patient payments and manage payment plans.Maintain a strong understanding of medical coding systems (ICD-10-CM, CPT) and billing regulations.Ensure all billing and coding practices comply with HIPAA and other relevant regulations.Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits.Gather and update patient demographic and insurance information.Schedule appointments and pre-register patients for upcoming services.Answer patient inquiries regarding billing and insurance coverage.Explain billing statements and resolve billing disputes.
