The Robert Half Healthcare Practice is working with a notable healthcare practice in the Indianapolis area to add a Medical Billing Specialist to join their team. This is a hybrid position with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home. You must live local to Indianapolis. Hours: Monday - Friday 8am-5pmResponsibilities for the position include the following:Leverage your knowledge of accounts receivable (A/R) processes and analyze aging reports to prioritize tasks as instructed by your supervisor.Process and submit pending insurance claims accurately following established billing guidelines and departmental procedures. This includes following up on claims to ensure timely resolution.Troubleshoot claim denials and collaborate with insurance companies and patients to resolve billing issues. This may involve submitting corrected claims and crafting appeal letters.Record payments received from insurance companies and patients.Review reimbursement audits to maintain accurate transaction processing.Deliver exceptional customer service by handling patient billing inquiries. Proactively resolve issues to meet patient needs in a timely manner.Reconcile daily charges and transactions to ensure accuracy.Become proficient in navigating our Electronic Practice Management (EPM) and Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (Integrity & Advanced MD).Process and file correspondence efficiently.Participate actively in team meetings, contributing positive feedback and suggestions.Be prepared to undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
