Robert Half's client in the education industry is looking for an experienced IT Operations Manager to join their team on a 6-month contract to hire opportunity. The IT Operations Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Information Technology Department. The major components of this role include infrastructure support, Help Desk operations, setting institution-wide technology standards/practices, and leading projects in these areas. The IT Operations Manager will also focus on defining and developing key performance indicators to continually enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the client. Success in this role will be dependent on providing direct managerial oversight to a complex mix of internal staff, independent contractors, vendors, on-premises equipment, cloud-based infrastructure, and SaaS applications.Job Details:• Oversee end-user support operations, supervise Help Desk staff, and actively resolve technical support issues.• Familiarity with Azure cloud services, with the ability to navigate and troubleshoot within the Azure environment.• Manage workstation inventory, imaging technology, and set institution-wide standards for end-user devices.• Maintain accurate records of software/hardware inventory, monitor system updates, and schedule hardware replacements.• Manage identity and access systems, create user accounts, assign roles, and grant access to applications.• Responsible for LAN/WAN operations, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure proper wireless network functionality.• Act as the primary contact for Internet connectivity issues, liaise with ISPs to resolve outages or degradation.• Manage institutional VPN technologies, configure systems, troubleshoot technical connectivity issues.• Monitor and maintain backup and disaster recovery procedures, conduct periodic tests for data integrity.• Collaborate with VP of IS to develop technical policies, ensure quality service delivery in line with ITSM best practices.
