River Oaks Country Club is Hiring an Assistant Manager Near Houston, TX
- Assists the Clubhouse Managers in the supervision of staff in all areas of Clubhouse dining, private banquets and Food and Beverage Outlets
- Collaborates with Managers and other Assistant Mangers to provide a weekly staff schedule for Clubhouse dining rooms and/or banquet rooms based upon anticipated member/guest counts and special events needs
- Assists in the training and evaluation of staff, including contribution to annual performance reviews
- Assist in conducting pre-shift meetings covering important service and club related topics
- Maintains a presence in all Clubhouse dining rooms and/or banquet rooms and/or outlets throughout service
- Inspects employees to ensure that they are in proper and clean uniforms at all times
- Assists in compiling sales and service data for the daily dining recap report
- Provides appropriate reports concerning employee hours, schedules and job changes
- Receives and resolves complaints concerning food, beverages, and service
- Serves as liaison between the dining room and kitchen staff
- Ensures that all side work is completed by service staff according to ROCC standards and in a timely manner
- Assures the correct appearance, cleanliness and safety of dining areas, equipment and fixtures
- Checks the maintenance of all equipment in the dining room, private rooms and/or outlets and reports deficiencies and maintenance concerns
- Makes suggestions about improvements in service procedures and layout
- Assists with club events and private events
- Coordinates with Banquet staff on club events and exchanges in staff
- Assists in service when and where needed
- 1-3 Years of related experience in a high end private club or hotel operation
- A high school education or equivalent is required, with a four-year college degree preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Point of Sale knowledge preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Food and Beverage service knowledge
- Current TABC and Texas Food Handler Certifications
- Able to be flexible when taking on tasks, prioritizing as necessary, and in handling situations
- Dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of the membership; Acts with members in mind
- Able to learn quickly when faced with new problems and challenges
- Is easy to approach; enjoys interacting with co-workers, and members as required
- Gets more done in less time than others; ability to multi-task is critical
- Safety minded, high quality service standards, diplomatic and calm
- Skilled at active listening, retaining knowledge and acting upon it
