As Director of Revenue and Billingat Relativity, you will be responsible for leading the order-to-cash functions at Relativity. This role is instrumental in ensuring accurate revenue accounting, billing, reporting, execution of internal controls and oversight of key platforms and systems. You will be a key leader of the accounting team and will collaborate heavily with the sales and revenue operations functions to help support go-to-market strategies, scalability, strategic growth and to accomplish the objectives of the company.
This position reports to the VP Accounting and the ideal candidate will be located in the Chicago area; however, we would be open to considering remote candidates.
Your Role In Action- Lead and manage a global revenue accounting and billing teams, fostering professional growth and leadership to a geographically dispersed team of professionals located in the United States and Poland.
- Manage the revenue and billing processes, ensuring a robust level of analysis and close/reconciliation management tools to ensure the accurate and timely reporting of financial results.
- Ensure that customer invoices are accurately complied and managed on a timely basis.
- Develop and own internal controls to ensure accurate accounting outputs and safeguard company assets and develop policies, procedures, and workflows.
- Act as a subject matter expert on all things revenue-related, including transaction structuring.
- Support possible local accounting differences for statutory and related purposes in international entities.
- Work with financial statement auditors to support audit and disclosure requirements.
- Oversee the accounting calculations for commissions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders at the company, including corporate accounting, tax, FP&A, legal, HR, sales, revenue operations, IT and others.
- Coordinate as needed with outside advisors and third parties both in the US and internationally.
- Assist with system-related functions administered by the accounting department, particularly Zuora as the primary billing and revenue system of record.

Qualifications- 12 years of experience working in multi-national general corporate or public accounting (mix of both preferred), including 3 years as a supervisor/leader
- BA/BS in Accounting, Finance or related field or equivalent experience, Licensed CPA preferred
- In-depth understanding of revenue recognition accounting rules and systematic aspects of billing and revenue accounting.
- Basic understanding of sales tax related to billing
- Experience supporting accounting operations and reporting in multiple countries with strong accounting research skills
- Experience with ERP and other system implementations a plus (Zuora, Salesforce)
- Strong project management experience, ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adaptable to changing priorities and evolving responsibilities
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, verbal and written communications skills, and strong customer orientation
- Highly Desirable: Experience in a technology or SAAS company, usage-based billing experience, experience with mergers and acquisitions, and experience in a public company or SOX compliant environment
Compensation- Relativity is committed to competitive, fair, and equitable compensation practices.
- This position is eligible for total compensation which includes a competitive base salary, an annual performance bonus target of 20%, and long-term incentives. The expected salary range for this role is between $140,000 and $210,000. The final offered salary will be based on several factors, including but not limited to the candidate's depth of experience, skill set, qualifications, and internal pay equity. Hiring at the top end of the range would not be typical, to allow for future meaningful salary growth in this position..
