Position Description

The Sr. Director, Operations is responsible for manufacturing plant operations in his or her region. The Sr. Director, Operations leads, guides and coaches the plants in his or her region through applying clear and consistent manufacturing management and by actively sharing information and best practices. The Sr. Director, Operations takes corrective actions if needed to ensure stable operations and the required level of quality, safety and customer service. The Sr. Director, Operations sets guardrails and holds the plant managers accountable.

Essential Functions:

• Demonstrates an effective leadership style to both Plant Managers but also his or her peers or other Sr. Leadership inside and outside the Operations function
• Operates all plants in his or her region in accordance with Refresco North America policies, customer requirements and within approved budgets
• Actively manages large Manufacturing and/or Continuous Improvement projects in his or her region
• Provide leadership and sets objectives for plant leadership teams based on Refresco North America goals and customer needs
• Ensures all plants are utilizing the Refresco Management System (RMS)
• Analysis of plant results and discussing areas of concern with the plant leadership teams.
• Responsible for the compliance with all Safe Quality Food and Food safety requirements for all facilities.
• Ensure compliance to all OHSA and environmental regulatory and corporate standards for all facilities.
• Accountable for a safe working environment through the development of strategies focused on accident reduction as well as energy and waste minimization.
• Determine and implement key Quality Food Safety objectives, and determine who is responsible
• Responsible for site security /Food defense in his or her region
• Communicates plant production related requirements and solutions to the relevant departments as required
• Oversees the fulfillment of customer orders within the specifications of quality, quantity and cost
• Manages the assigned business metrics including yield, labor efficiency, line efficiency, OPEX cost savings projects and overhead expenses.
• Maintains effective communication of expectations and goals throughout the plant environments.
• Develop and communicate business impact at plant and regional level with weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance reports.
• Oversee effective deployment of human resources throughout the Manufacturing plants.

Education and Experience:

• BS/BA in a related field plus ten (10) years of experience in leadership the the food/beverage manufacturing experience required. 
• Strong leadership capabilities in a fast-paced production environment required. 
• Experience in managing multi person team across regions
• Experience in building effective collaborative relationships with internal and external customers
• Commit to ongoing personal and professional development, including participation in training and educational programs as may be offered from time to time.

Required Skills and Competencies:

• Prior multiple site responsibility.
• Proven ability to drive change and Lean knowledge.
• Able to work independently and prioritize among multiple simultaneous assignments with strong ownership.
• Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; SAP is a plus.
• Ability to analyze and solve problems, results oriented.
• Able to work under deadline pressures.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written.
• Budget planning and managing.
• Ability to work in a changing and multi-task environment.
