Red Carrot is Hiring a Remote Public Relations Specialist

Red Carrot is seeking a Public Relations Specialist to join a team supporting our federal government clients. The individual filling this role will be an organized, detail-oriented, and personable teammate. The role will support strategic initiatives to create and maintain a positive public image for the client organization. Beyond the daily tasks, this role offers something special: the opportunity to be part of a dynamic organization supporting institutions whose missions include creating equity and social justice. The position calls for someone who can embrace that mission and be a driving force behind achieving goals. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Crafts and executes tailored pitches to engage potential partners.
  • Ensures that propositions resonate with the target priorities. 
  • Develops and maintains a positive public image for the client’s organization through public-facing communication. 
  • Establishes and maintains positive relationships with potential partners as well as within the organization, fostering genuine connections based on common interests and maintaining outreach for positive outcomes.
  • Develops and/or executes content strategies to release information on the organization in a manner that will promote a positive public image. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must Haves:

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or 5 years of working in Public Relations. 
  • Extensive knowledge of public relations principles and strategies.
  • Excellent written communication skills with a proven ability in a journalistic style that is customary for external publications. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and networking skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with media contacts and outlets. 
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. 
  • Excellent time management skills with the proven ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. 

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience working with public sector clients.
  • Experience interacting with key stakeholders in complex organizations. 
  • Familiarity with Government financial literacy
