Ranger Oil Corporation is Hiring a Financial Reporting Analyst Near Houston, TX
Located in Houston, Texas, the individual in this role will report to the Manager, Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting. The Financial Reporting Analyst is responsible for assisting in the preparation of the Company’s SEC and U.S. GAAP compliant quarterly and annual financial statements. The Financial Reporting Analyst will also be responsible for preparing monthly consolidated financial and related operating results and for the financial information included in quarterly and annual earnings releases and other SEC filings. The individual in this role must be able to work in a dynamic and often demanding environment. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter with strong written and oral communication skills with an attention to detail and focus on quality.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and Active CPA required;
Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial reporting, which may include SEC registrant reporting within industry and/or public accounting experience; experience with both a definite plus;
Solid understanding of accounting standards generally accepted in the United States (US GAAP) is required;
Upstream Oil and Gas experience a plus;
Advanced knowledge of Excel is required;
Wdesk (Workiva) and XBRL tagging experience preferred; and
Detail oriented, organized and ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities
Duties and Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation and maintenance of financial reports in accordance with US GAAP and SEC rules/regulations;
Prepare ad hoc reports as required by management and other stakeholders;
Perform financial analysis, as needed;
Assist in the preparation of financial schedules and support/coordinate with Investor Relations for Earnings Releases and Investor Presentations;
Prepare workpapers to support financial statement disclosures;
Responsible for the tie-out of SEC filings;
Review financial statement analytics and analyses and ensure variances are thoroughly documented;
Assist in coordination of external and internal auditors for the Company’s quarterly reviews, annual audits and other audits, as required, and provide requested supporting documentation;
Assist with XBRL mapping/tagging of financial statements and related footnotes;
Assist with the review of financial sections and supporting schedules included in the annual proxy statement and any securities offering documents;
Prepare and file U.S. Government census surveys to U.S. Census Bureau, as required;
Assist with special projects and other assigns as needed; and
Cross train on Corporate Accounting back-office functions to serve as a back-up, as needed
