SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The IT Operations manager plans, directs and coordinates the daily operations of RSC IT Infrastructure Department. The IT operations manager is responsible for ensuring and improving the performance, productivity and efficiency of departmental and organizational operations through the provision of effective methods and strategies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Managing help desk and infrastructure staff for responsive communication to customers for IT projects and issues

· Provide oversight of technical resources and provide support for system design, development, testing, implementation and sustainment activities

· Coordinate, manage and monitor the workings of various departments in the organization

· Improve processes and policies in support of organizational goals. Formulate and implement departmental and organizational policies and procedures to maximize output. 

· Oversee the purchase, installation, and life-cycle maintenance of PCs, servers and LAN network connectivity equipment

· Manage contracts with vendors (telecommunications, software license, Hardware, etc.) 

· Control cost and budgets for the department

· Taking additional initiative where necessary to create documented process improvements and solutions to complex problems given your advanced level of understanding of available technology

· Creating plans and providing hands on support during emergencies, outages, and service transitions

· Communicating plans, outages, and maintenance schedule to managers and teammates to ensure clear understanding by RSC teammates

· Oversee data backups and works with Director of Security ensuring the business continuity plan is up to date and tested

· Provide system performance reporting to the head of IT

· Maintain reporting systems for compliance standards

· Recommend system enhancements and upgrades for performance efficiency and compliance

· Have ownership of all IaaS cloud & server environments

· Implement systems critical to Information Technology

· Coordinate with QA team in optimize configuration processes

QUALIFICATIONS:

· 10 years of experience with networking, systems administration, helpdesk support

· 5 years management exp

· 3 years network security and payment card industry exp

· Degree preferred, but not required if above experience is met

Software:

· JIRA

· Dell KACE

· Windows / Mac OS

· Any programming language (ie. Powershell, C#, Java)

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

· Must Communicate Compliance Testing Results to departments

· Must take ownership of code deployments and have availability

· Report issues to development teams

· Provide metrics and detailed reports to IT Director

· Ensure all server environments meet business requirements based on their specific roles
