Operations Manager

We are leaders in a very unique perishable industry, and our business is expanding quickly. We are currently looking to fill the position of Operations Manager to handle daily operations of the warehouse, including, freight Inbound/outbound (LAX cargo, Fedex, UPS) in charge of the Receiving and put-away department and the Packing-Shipping department, working shoulder with other departments as Purchasing, Sales, HR, IT, Facilities on the daily basis or future projects. The successful applicant will maintain high levels of accuracy in day-to-day operations, lead and develop the warehouse team and provide impeccable customer service to our clients B2B and B2C while maximizing productivity and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leads warehouse operations by applying Good Management Practices, providing directions to staff, training personnel on key skills, managing inventory, and optimizing costs while consistently meeting and exceeding customer service standards of shipping complete orders on time.
• Ensure the accuracy of all products received from vendors and shipped to customers.
• Ensure warehouse meets any and all local/federal government guidelines and regulations and company standards for Best Practices, safety, efficiency, and cleanliness.
• Monitor staff attendance, authorize staff absences and ensure appropriate coverage; manage and determine daily warehouse schedule as needed to complete orders on time and support activities.
• Build an effective team through hands on employee relations, hiring, cross-training, and communication for both management and front-line hourly personnel by setting performance expectations, providing feedback and recognizing exceptional performance and disciplining for unacceptable behavior.
• Develops key metrics to access, measure and control warehousing activities thru regular monitoring of finished work based on schedules and assignments as well as developing other analytics and metrics from readily available data maintained within our systems.
• Proactively evaluates warehousing support systems and processes and improve the efficiency and accuracy of all warehousing activities to minimize cost and maximize productivity.
• Safeguards warehouse operations and assets by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
• Manage inventory levels by conducting physical/cycle counts; reconciling with ERP system.
• Maintain physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new or revised layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.
• Expand shipping capacity to support growth in our direct to consumer fulfillment.
• Responsible for maintenance and up keep of facilities and equipment and managing supplies.
• Responsible for coordinating the setup and logistics for In House Raw Materials consumption and other consumables

Required Qualifications:

• 10 years of proven experience in a highly data driven warehouse management environment is required.
• College degree-related field of study required. Desire Lean Manufacturing experience.
• Experience in consumer package products, perishable is a plus
• Experience with Microsoft Office, ERP software, and the utilization of barcode systems in a warehouse environment.
• Ability to develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures.
• Strong planning, organizational, interpersonal, and verbal/written communication skills.
• Solid problem-solving ability in a fast pace and dynamic environment.
• Spanish is a plus
