Fireworks by Grucci is a sixth generation, eleven-time World Record breaking international fireworks entertainment company that has been lighting up the skies since 1850. We have performed firework displays, for many of the world’s notable events such as; Olympics, Presidential Inaugurals; and concerts such as EDC. Located on the Radford Army Ammunition Plant for over twenty-five years, we also partner with the Department of Defense through our sister company Pyrotechnique by Grucci. Not only do we create wonderment in the sky with our precision pyrotechnic performances, but we also support our troops through the manufacturing and distribution of a range of munitions and simulations. We are looking for an experienced Director of Human Resources to oversee the human resource functions of multiple Grucci facilities, both domestic and international.
General Requirements, include but not limited to:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources (HR) or related discipline from an accredited college or university; other combinations of applicable education, training, and experience which provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position may be considered.
2. A minimum of eight (8) years of progressive experience in human resources management; five (5) of which must have been in a supervisory capacity; strong generalist background required.
3. Background in the administration of payroll required.
4. Background knowledge of ISO 9001 preferred
5. Experience managing Human Resource functions for multiple facilities and through consultants when applicable required.
6. Must have working knowledge implementing and maintaining an Affirmative Action Plan.
7. Must have experience working with Human Resource law as it relates to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), engaging in the interactive process, and reasonable accommodations.
8. Experience in Human Resource management within a manufacturing firm preferred.
9. Must have experience with conflict resolution.
10. Must have experience working through complex and sensitive employee issues.
11. Must have the ability to work with people at all levels within an organization.
12. Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state labor laws.
13. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, with a strong emphasis on Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, Power Point and SharePoint.
14. Must have excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills and be able to work and communicate well at all levels, internal and external to the organization.
15. Must have the ability to make judgments based on factual data and manage multiple projects and tasks.
16. Must exhibit discretion, flexibility, and willingness to work with all employees.
17. Able to travel for work between facilities as needed.
Job Duties, include but not limited to:
1. Plan, direct and manage the human resource functions of Pyrotechnique by Grucci (PbG), Fireworks by Grucci (FbG), and Grucci Middle East Event Organizer (GRMEEO) and ensuring legal compliance.
2. Manage company Human Resource Information System (HRIS), Application Tracking System (ATS), and payroll system.
3. Provide direction on laws that impact the company such as Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Worker’s Compensation, Fair Labor Standard Act (FLSA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), ADA, Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and other federal, state, or local regulations.
4. Stay up-to-date with employment laws and how they relate to each facility, on a state, federal, and international level.
5. Communicate with staff and advisors overseas to ensure we compliant with international labor laws.
6. Advise Directors, Managers and Supervisors on Human Resource policy and recommend needed changes.
7. Ensure company is in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and that reasonable accommodation is made for employees as necessary.
8. Ensure company is in compliance with Health Information Privacy as defined by HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996).
9. Ensure company compliance with the Drug and Alcohol Free Workplace Act.
Physical Requirements, include but not limited to:
1. Able to travel for work between facilities as needed.
2. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
3. Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
