California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS) seeks an Information Technology Specialist I in the Technology Infrastructure Services Division, Systems Engineering and Storage Management Section.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Developing solutions for infrastructure systems.
- Acting as a subject matter expert in a variety of technologies such as enterprise storage, virtualization, backup systems, and disaster recovery.
- Researching new technologies for potential implementation and integration with current systems.
- Sets new datacenter hardware standards.
- Providing technical advice to other system and application administrators, assisting in solving complex system problems and in achieving the best use of available hardware and software resources.

Desirable Qualifications
- Technical knowledge and experience with Storage Area Networks (SAN) and Network Attached Storage (NAS)
- Technical knowledge and experience with VMware virtualization
- Technical knowledge and experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating system and/or the Windows Server operating system
- Technical knowledge and experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, LDAP
- Technical knowledge and experience with Data Backups, Restores and Disaster Recovery
