Project Monitor, Inc. is Hiring a Remote Director of Operations

The Company is hiring a Director of Operations to oversee manufacturing and fulfillment of the two electronics SKUs that enable the Company's software services.

This will be the Company's inaugural physical products, offering early members of our hardware team significant ownership and influence over the development of our team and processes, as well as the overall success of our business. Collaboration with the CX and product software teams will be commonplace, and we encourage individuals with diverse expertise to contribute to the improvement of our business and customer experience.

We are a small company founded by experienced entrepreneurs who recognize the importance of providing guidance and support to team members eager to take on new responsibilities.

Position:

  • Build and lead outsourced manufacturing operations capability, matching Harbor’s key build and launch milestones for its first-generation devices in 2024.
  • This role will…
    • report directly to the VP of HW.
    • interact directly with startup Leadership team
    • partner with the Dir of HW Engineering
    • manage a Sr Mfg Engineer
    • manage on-the-ground QA personnel in Asia (China Vietnam, India)
    • manage an Ops PM (domestic or international)
  • Own the end-to-end supply chain for all Harbor Products (Monitor, Camera, Packaging):
    • Global ODM network (India, China, Vietnam)
    • North American 3PL
    • Global strategic materials & components supply chain
      • Image sensors and processors
      • Optical lens assemblies
      • Connectivity (WiFi BLE) solutions
  • Location
    • This position is remote, assumed North American time zone.

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensure alignment of Hardware Product Requirements to manufacturing capability. Ensure manufacturing partners meet standards (TQCAB).
    • Time, Quality, Cost, Availability, Ease of Doing Business
  • Ensure NPI Build Readiness; partner with NPI key stakeholders (at Harbor and at ODMs) to ensure all build needs are addressed on schedule
    • manufacturing engineering (DfM, test, reliability, process, product data/change management), materials pipelining, cost, product demand planning, security, quality/reliability, product fulfillment, RMA
  • Scale operations from initial NPI and MP builds to steady production at volumes, quality, and cost meeting Harbor’s key corporate goals.
  • Manage on-going, day-to-day operations, including…
    • Supply chain and other upstream dependencies
    • Equipment, fixtures, and processes
    • Production operations
    • Quality Assurance
    • Shipping logistics
    • North American Inventory and fulfillment
    • Reverse logistics
  • On-going total cost optimization for all Harbor’s Products
  • Integrate Ops’ information systems with other Harbor SW systems;
    • ODM’s native MES
    • PDM
    • e-Commerce front-end
    • Customer Experience platform
  • Provide regular, clear reports to the Harbor’s leadership
    • Quarterly ODM review per TQCAB

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • 10y experience in electronics hardware mass production, e.g.
  • Experience operating as individual contributor, cross-fuctional PM, and as people manager
  • Experience working cross-functionally within a small company and a large organization
  • Ability & willingness to travel to sites in North America and Asia

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in engineering
  • Experience in camera production
  • Experience in (Android) tablet or large format display production
  • Experience with commercial operations
