Power Design, Inc. is Hiring a Remote HR Compliance Specialist
about the position… Power Design is seeking an HR Compliance Coordinator who is driven to contribute to Power Design’s growth and long-term success. This position is part of the HR Operations team and will partner closely with our People Business Partners, General Counsel, and HR Functional leaders to design and implement programs, policies, and practices to ensure that all areas of Power Design’s People policies comply with federal, state, and local employment law requirements. This person is responsible for actively researching HR initiatives related to HR compliance & company policies, HR Audits, and other programs/initiatives as dictated by business needs. position details/responsibilities… Maintain knowledge of new and existing employment laws; ensure organizational compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations including personnel files, recordkeeping, background screening program and vendor compliance. Oversee the planning and delivery for all HR compliance related reporting, projects and initiatives. Partner with HR Business Partner’s to determine strategy and approach on employment-related policies, guidelines, and processes that is consistent with Power Design culture. Establishes metric-based reporting to HR Operations with areas of opportunity to meet or enhance compliance measures. Produces, analyzes, and distributes compliance data and reporting for company leadership. Continually assesses and updates company HR policies, in accordance with state, federal, and local regulatory requirements. Maintains comprehensive state-by-state compliance procedures with the Legal department and external counsel which includes wage & hour, meal periods, leaves of absence, pay, and benefits administration. Oversee escalations in partnership with internal and external General Counsel, as it relates to compliance-related initiatives. here’s what we’re looking for… Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or another related field and 1-3 years of related work experience is required. Demonstrated experience with HR Compliance, policy development and governance. Fact-based problem-solving. Generate sound business recommendations in alignment with legal requirements and operational needs. Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner while balancing the interests of the business. Effective communication and project management skills to implement consistent and compliant processes across the organization. Comfortable preparing, analyzing, and drawing conclusions from data. Action-oriented - ability to drive to resolution in a timely, proactive manner. Strong follow-through - focuses on results and manages barriers to execution. Ability to influence without authority and a self-starter. Able to garner respect and trust from peers in a collaborative manner. Continuous improvement mindset.
