Position Purpose:
The Food Security Manager is responsible for providing nutrition services to tribal members and the Community. This position will work directly with vendors, sponsors, and nonprofits to provide the best market and resource experience to the community.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Implement Food Distribution Program.
Manage Nutrition contracts and grants.
Maintain stock records and documentation.
Manage store and warehouse.
Oversee Food Distribution policies and procedures.
Manage Nutrition employees.
Build and maintain relationships with local and regional producers/distributors.
Organize work in a timely manner to meet all deadlines and schedules.
Participate in food delivery and nutrition education.
Acts as a liaison between the community, city, and state to maintain awareness of changes in food access and program development.
Prepares data and analysis to relay the importance of programs and advocates for improvements.
Implement SNAP for Peoria Fresh Market
Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
Possess an associate or bachelor’s degree in nutrition, Ag Business, or related field.
Candidate has 2 years of Nutrition/ Nutrition Education Experience.
Candidate possesses a Food Handler Permit (preferred).
Retail Food Management Experience (preferred).
Candidate is familiar with local farmers and distributors.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Organizational and record-keeping skills are necessary for accurate maintenance of files, correspondence and follow-up.
Proficiency with computers and programs like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, EMR and the Internet.
Food pantry knowledge (preferred)
Self-starter
Certifications:
Valid Driver’s License and Insurance.
Food Handler Permit (preferred)
Conditions of Employment:
The Peoria Tribe of Indians of Oklahoma operates a drug-free workplace.

Must pass background investigations for suitability of character identified in accordance with
the Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act, and Child Care and Development Fund, 45 C.F.R. § 98.43(a)(2).
Adhere to all work rules, policies & procedures, and safety standards.
Work Requirements:
Position involves prolonged sitting, standing, stooping, or bending, lifting, or carrying up to 50 pounds on a daily basis.
Work is generally performed in an office environment with varying levels of lighting, air quality, noise, and / or temperature.
