The Position 

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to successfully lead and manage multiple medium to large project initiatives in a timely, efficient, and effective manner to meet the agency's strategic goals. The successful candidate should have current PMP certification and thorough knowledge and experience of PMBOK project management practices and PMO governance processes.

Qualifications & Experience 

  1. Project management practices including cost management, benefit analysis, risk management, timeline estimation, resource management, and change control.
  2. Strong understanding and experience of SDLC and IT governance methodologies, tools, and approaches to successful project implementations.
  3. Ability to analyze, produce solutions and solve project issues.
  4. Ability to build and maintain relationships across business groups.
  5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written) with the ability to clearly communicate complex messages to a variety of audiences.
  6. Demonstrated competency in developing and managing complex project plans, timelines, budgets, and critical paths.
  7. Ability to work under tight deadlines and meet strict deadlines with sudden and unpredictable changes that may occur.
  8. Ability to improve current processes and procedures; present opportunities for change and help implement them for the benefit of the agency.
  9. PMP certification required.

Responsibilities

  1. Manage, plan, execute, monitor, and control the activities of medium to large information technology projects and teams.
  2. Coordinates, drives, and monitors activities of all parties involved to ensure the project is completed on time, within budget, and meets quality standards.
  3. Creates, reviews and maintains project management plans, charters, schedules, communication matrixes, risk/issue logs, and lessons learned documentation.
  4. Proactively manage project risks and issues – identify and mitigate throughout project life cycle.
  5. Conduct requirement-gathering sessions with project stakeholders to capture the project requirements.
  6. Ensures users and project team members' roles and responsibilities on the project are defined.
  7. Ensure requirements, architecture, and processes are fully documented throughout the projects.
  8. Ensures that required project documents/templates such as Project Charter, requirements, design, UAT, implementation, and project closeout are signed off and approved by the project sponsor and PMO.
  9. Maintain PMO site and keep all documentation up-to-date.
  10. Communicates project status to appropriate management and stakeholders and address cost/schedule/quality issues in a timely manner.
  11. Effectively leverage in-house and vendor resources to deliver high-quality and timely delivery of projects.

Education 

  1. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
