POSITION SUMMARY

The OSP Project Manager is responsible for coordinating and completing OSP Engineering & Construction projects. They are also responsible for working directly with internal and external stakeholders to ensure deliverables are completed on schedule and within budget, often managing multiple projects and tasks concurrently. Prepare reports for clients and upper management regarding the status of the project. Remove roadblocks and ensure processes are documented and efficient. Additionally, you will focus on the collaborative process and relationship building with customers and internal functional teams. You will build and maintain organizational alignment with the rest of the business to support the company’s key performance indicators.

Preferably in Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Wisconsin

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Continuously deliver high-quality service and problem resolution to ensure our organization adheres to the high service levels expected by our clients.
  • Determines and adjusts project schedule and targets as work progresses.
  • Review Construction Work Prints – evaluate scope/scale of work, permitting requirements, etc
  • Assign Work Orders to Construction Vendor(s)
  • Establish Vendor construction work schedule
  • Communicates and coordinates project requirements and processes with functional managers and clients.
  • Facilitate and Lead Project Management Meetings, both internal and external, with Frontier to accomplish the project goals.
  • Identifies and resolves problems and inconsistencies, determining appropriate corrective procedures.
  • Review resource needs and ensure all phases of the project are appropriately staffed.
  • Monitor individual job progress and make any needed adjustments.
  • Measure project performance and work with internal teams to improve in needed areas.
  • Studies and standardizes procedures to improve the efficiency of the project workflow.
  • Ensures internal and external systems are updated as required.
  • Utilize internal systems for reporting and monitoring project status. Identify new dashboard, report, or system functionality needed to complete or improve the project and work with appropriate team members to implement it.
  • Additional responsibilities of this position include field engineers and researching plats and ROW dimensions at various municipalities.
  • Candidates must possess the ability to meet or exceed business unit goals and follow customer and business unit directives and practices.
  • Travel may require up to 25%

QUALIFICATIONS and REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong telecommunications background, including knowledge in infrastructure, equipment, design, and construction
  • 3 years in OSP Project Management or Management roles preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in the appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Must be able to manage OSP E2E network expansion projects
  • Work closely with the OSPEs/design team to meet client expectations
  • Experience with State/Local/Federal Departments of Transportation – Permitting
  • Work with Frontier Right of Way, Central Office, etc.
  • Knowledge of ROW/easements
  • Manage project team, scheduling, quality assurance, and budgets
  • Adhere to safety guidelines
  • Meet established schedules
  • Knowledge of outside plant activities (Fiber Cable Design, Pole Line Construction, Conduit System design)
  • Ability to resolve complex problems following standard practices, using judgment within defined policies and guidelines
  • Capable of managing and prioritizing multiple complex engineering assignments on time and within budget.
  • Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Self-motivated

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • This role is remote and requires you to work from home in a distraction-free environment with adequate space to set up a home office
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms.

  • Able to effectively handle multiple priorities with strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, oral, and written communications skills
  • Must be able to work alone and with a team
  • Experience in mentoring, career growth, and providing constructive feedback required
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check
  • 3 years in Project Management or Management roles preferred.
  • Associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • PMP Certification preferred.
  • Experience in telecommunications preferred.
