Pastis NYC - Affiliated with STARR Restaurants is Hiring a Human Resources Manager Near Philadelphia, PA

STARR Restaurants is seeking a skilled Human Resources Manager to join our rapidly growing, industry-leading Company.

The Human Resources Manager will provide comprehensive HR support for the areas of employee benefit programs, policies, and procedures. Specifically in the areas of health and dental plans, disability insurance, unemployment, worker’s compensation, and general H.R. functions.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Administer the employee benefit plans by assisting new hires, newly eligible, and current participants with questions regarding their benefits or the enrollment process
  • Manage the day-to-day relationships with benefit vendors and monitor adherence to contractual terms and conditions
  • Manage relationships with benefits brokers to obtain coverage trends, enrollment, claims and utilization data, plan design options, and costs
  • Assist with the evaluation and selection of new vendors and manage implementation of vendor and/or plan design changes
  • Ensure benefits compliance with laws and regulations, including annual 5500 filing
  • Manage annual open enrollment processes, including the ongoing process from a plan design / plan management perspective, communication to employees of new or revised benefit plans or provisions and responding to complex questions
  • Conduct benefits audit to ensure compliance and identify and action errors
  • Manage annual renewal and open enrollment processes (timelines/deadlines, compiling employee census data, broker partnership, facilitate Open Enrollment meetings, update communication materials for all plans, answer questions regarding new or revised benefit plans, and oversee input of new payroll deductions)
  • Administer Family and Medical Leave & Short- and Long-Term Disability processes
  • Oversee workers' compensation claims including the assessment and analysis of risk, development of strategies, action plans and associated recommendations to move claims to settlement or closure
  • Provide ongoing training and resource material to those involved with workers' compensation claims reporting and unemployment procedures
  • Identify workers' compensation cost mitigation strategies, such as minimized risk of litigation, immediate notification reporting, and injured employee communication.
  • Follow up on unemployment reports, including rates, costs and provide relevant communication to restaurants
  • Compile information required for annual EEO-1 report filing
  • Assist with investigating and resolving employee complaints, issues and concerns regarding employment practices on an as needed basis

Qualified candidates will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resource/business management or equivalent education and experience required
  • Minimum of 5 years of previous HR experience with increasing responsibility
  • Hospitality, retail, or similar industry experience preferred
  • Previous experience in supporting multi-state field employees in the areas of benefits, workers’ compensation and leave of absences
  • Ability to work under pressure with multiple deadlines and stakeholders in demanding environment
  • High attention to detail and excellent oral and written communication skills
