The Senior Tax Analyst will use their indirect tax experience and analytical skills to support the Tax Managers and Tax Department within Parkland USA’s Supply office in Houston.

Location: Houston, TX

Key Responsibilities:

• Tax Determination/Tax Matrix for multi-jurisdictions
• Maintain Customer exemption certificates
• Stay up to date on U.S. (federal, state, and local) tax law changes impacting the organization
• Maintain current taxes, Set up new taxes, new locations, and tax set-ups in PDI
• Support internal divisions for tax exemption documentation
• Comply with the customer on-boarding process to ensure accurate tax set-ups
• Strong knowledge of U.S. federal, state, local level tax as it relates to motor fuel and sales and use tax
• Understand, interpret, and apply tax law
• Research technical tax matters and apply to Parkland’s business
• Support other team members as required to meet the goals and objectives of the tax department
• Work with internal and State auditors and amend returns when necessary
• Review tax returns
• Assist with GL Reconciliations

Qualifications

• Completion of a Business degree with an Accounting/Finance concentration or similar.
• 3-5 years of experience working in Indirect Tax
• Strong analytical skills, detail oriented, and well organized
• Self-starter with a proven ability to work independently to complete tasks and meet deadlines
• Must demonstrate a willingness to learn and can learn and apply new concepts quickly
• Experience with PDI is considered an asset
• Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels of personnel, across functions, and with external contacts
• Robust work ethic
• Ability to work both independently and within a small team environment.
• Strong computer skills
