Job Summary and Qualifications

The Assistant Vice President of Leadership Development will be responsible for strategy development, deployment and optimization of an enterprise leadership development program for Parallon. The AVP will lead the approach for delivering learning and development courses and activities, targeting both existing leaders and emerging leaders. The AVP will play a primary role with identifying, attracting, developing and retaining top new talent by building partnerships with universities where we have sourced leaders successfully. This position will also foster new, stronger and more proactive relationships with deans and college key advisors, supporting campus representation of opportunities across Parallon and ensuring consistency across the existing engagement of leaders in our target recruiting markets. The AVP will collaborate closely with stakeholders across all Parallon business units and HCA Healthcare Leadership Institute and other key areas such as Parallon Learning and Development as well as HR / Talent Acquisition to define our leadership development objectives, develop innovative learning programs and implement effective strategies to enhance the leadership capabilities of our colleagues. It will be critical for the AVP to foster a culture of continuous leadership development, promote knowledge sharing, and ensure that Parallon learning initiatives align with our strategic goals while advocating for enterprise-wide deployment. The AVP must have a strong background in and passion for fostering leadership skills development of others, recruiting experience, excellent communication and presentation skills and a focus on service delivery and results. Additionally, it is expected that this role will proactively seek a strategy that employs both in person training and technology that delivers effective virtual learning delivery as well. The AVP must leverage data and analytics to drive decision making and to measure the impact of the learning programs implemented in support of achieving our leadership development objectives.

What you will do in this role:

  • Develop and implement an enterprise leadership development strategy that aligns and supports Parallon’s goals and to prepare the organization for the future
  • Collaborate broadly with all key stakeholders in identifying leadership development learning needs
  • Design and deliver innovative and engaging leadership development programs using a variety of deployment methods for most effective consumption (in person and virtual)
  • Contribute guidance for the implementation of effective talent acquisition approaches to attract, grow and retain leaders for Parallon
  • Serve as a brand ambassador for Parallon, representing the organization, our values and promoting opportunities at campus and other related events
  • Facilitate governance committee meetings with Parallon senior leadership to ensure the program has full support across the Parallon organization and meets all stakeholder needs, while providing reporting on progress against strategy objectives
  • Establish metrics and benchmarks to measure progress against the implementation plan as well as the effectiveness of the leadership learning initiatives
  • Deep dive into every resource and program available to Parallon from the HCA Healthcare Leadership Institute and determine how best to fully leverage across our enterprise and in support of our leadership development objectives
  • Collaborate with HCA Healthcare’s Internal Audit intern program to coordinate an approach at established schools and participate in Audit’s in-person events twice annually. Look for opportunities to collaborate with HealthTrust as well.
  • Develop and execute a communications program to support and promote the leadership development program.
  • Foster a culture of continuous leadership development and knowledge sharing within the organization •
  • Partner with Parallon Learning and Development to identify and implement emerging technologies and methodologies to enhance learning experiences for our current and emerging leaders
  • Collaborate with HR and talent management teams to align leadership development initiatives with talent development strategies
  • Plan and execute university recruitment events, including career fairs, networking events, and information sessions; provide continuity and a best practice standard approach to be used by all SSCs and departments across Parallon.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in university talent recruitment to ensure Parallon retains a competitive advantage
  • Create, update, and deliver training sessions and learning materials via a variety of written, verbal, or electronic instructional techniques. Develop and maintain proper communications such as digital newsletters, blog posts and live presentations to ensure colleagues have knowledge of training events and available leadership development resources.
What qualifications you will need:
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Master’s Degree preferred
  • 10 years in management or leadership role
