Job Summary and Qualifications
The Assistant Vice President of the HealthTrust Freight Management program provides strategic and operational leadership for the development, launch and growth of this new stand-alone HealthTrust offering. The role is responsible for the creation of all operational processes and documentation required for launching the new service offering including and not limited to vendor contracting, member recruitment, staff hiring and training, internal stake holder collaboration for shared services, operational SOPs, member facing analytics and financial accountability for the performance of the service line.
What you will do in this role includes:
- Responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive freight management program in support of GPO members to optimize service and cost of inbound and outbound freight for all use cases
- Manage relationships with 3rd party service providers supporting the service line
- Manage relationships with all members utilizing the HealthTrust Freight Management Program
- Drive inbound and outbound freight mode optimization with member facilities and warehouses
- Hire and train team members for the Freight Management program as volume growth dictates
- Design customer facing analytical reporting tools to demonstrate the value of the program and opportunities for further improvement on a member by member basis as well as rolled up for internal use
- Negotiate 3rd party inbound and outbound transportation agreements for use by GPO members
- Collaborate with HealthTrust Purchasing Group on all national agreements for all modes of freight
- Manage relationship with Transportation Management System (TMS) vendor and Freight Pay & Audit (FP&A) vendor ensuring systems are operating as expected as well as providing guidance on needed enhancements to support the business
- Develop strategies for freight cost in GPO supply agreements supporting the strategic sourcing teams
- Develop, implement, and mange metrics/dashboards for transportation providers
- Measure and manage carrier claims
- Measure and report Freight Management program revenue and savings to internal leadership
- Develop standard Policies & Procedures for transportation and logistics teams to use as well as education materials for use by sourcing teams, member operational teams and participating vendors
- Conduct financial analysis for each member engaged to identify, document and demonstrate the value of the Freight Management program
- Work with each participating GPO member to develop annual operating budgets for transportation operations
- Design training programs for employees of member companies utilizing the Freight Management program
- Work with carriers on establishing, maintaining and enhancing EDI / API functionality or capabilities
- Support internal operations, sourcing and consulting teams as a subject matter expert in all areas of freight
