Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team! This position requires a detail-oriented finance professional who will provide accounting support for a high transaction and fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:The following duties are typical of the position, but are not all encompassing:
Prepare journal entries, financial analyses, and month-end close process.
Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations. Research differences and proactively ensure complete and timely resolution.
Record cash receipts in a timely and accurate manner; access daily bank reports, complete daily and weekly cash reporting and monthly bank reconciliations.
Process monthly credit card statements/invoices, ensuring adequate supporting documentation approval by management, general ledger coding (overhead/billable) and post in ERP in a timely manner.
Create, maintain and issue various weekly and/or monthly Accounts Payable reports used to issue Subconsultant payments.
Assist with monthly/quarterly sales and use tax preparation.
Assist with the corporate premises and equipment lease database, update lease schedules in accordance with GAAP ASC842 monthly and prepare journal entry.
Provides support as needed to internal and external auditors and examiners.
Complete ad hoc reports as requested by Controller or other internal stakeholders.
Bachelors degree in accounting or similar field required.
2 years related experience in general ledger and financial reporting required.
ERP experience required, BST Global preferred.
Microsoft Office project suite experience required as well as knowledge of intermediate to advanced Excel functions.
Ability to multi-task, critical thinking and problem-solving skills while maintaining an effective, positive relationship with team members.
High attention to detail and level of accuracy.
Demonstrated ability to take initiative and ownership of projects.
Must demonstrate the highest standards of personal and professional integrity and character and promote ethical business behavior throughout the company.
Willing to adapt to change, curious about innovation and modernization in a dynamic workplace environment.
