Job DescriptionWe are currently looking for a Staff Accountant, Cash & Consolidations Accounting to join our growing Finance team!In this role, you will report directly to a Manager on the Cash & Consolidations Accounting team. As Staff Accountant, Cash & Consolidations Accounting, you will support the implementation of processes, policies, and procedures ensuring the accuracy of the consolidated financial statements and intercompany eliminations. You will play a major part in the financial month-end closing and reporting process by managing complex journal entries for the company. The successful candidate will partner with key business stakeholders and business finance partners to provide accounting guidance to ensure adherence to applicable guidance, policies and processes.As Staff Accountant, Cash & Consolidations Accounting, your duties will include:Preparing journal entries and supporting documentation for the monthly, quarterly, and yearly close process with a primary focus on cash related activities, consolidations, and intercompany eliminations, but will support other areas as required.Prepare various balance sheet account reconciliations ensuring proper supporting documentationSupport the preparation and review of materials for month end financial reviews and other external communicationsAnalyze and document income statement and balance sheet fluctuations monthlyLiaise with teams across multiple departments and locations to obtain and distribute financial informationParticipate in the development of financial reporting packages, including preparation of financial statements, disclosures, and supporting schedulesProvides support for external and internal audit activities as necessaryReview and enhance analysis and analytical processes and controlsEnsure effective working relationships with key business partnersPerform special projects and any other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned QualificationsWHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance2-3 years of accounting experience in a corporate accounting or financial reporting settingPreferred 1-2 years of experience of cash, consolidations, and/or intercompany eliminationsExperience organizing a large volume of information and identifying and deploying automation tools/solutionsProficiency in the use of database tools and financial reporting packages.Clear communicator, experience running meetings effectively, and to explain complex concepts to a non-technical audienceComplete ownership and accountability of the function given the deadline-oriented nature of the positionAdaptable to changing business environment and organizational structureBONUS POINTS FOR:Master’s Degree in Accounting or FinanceCPA designationExperience with SAP, a plusBackground in the telecommunications industry#LI-AK1Additional InformationWHY JOIN US?We aspire to contemporary ways of working.At Brightspeed, we have roles that are designated as remote, hybrid, office or field-based, depending on the position, business needs and individual circumstances.
