Marketing & Events Manager
Original Pattern Brewing Company is an award winning, employee owned brewery and
tasting room located in Oakland, CA. We are a quickly growing company made up of
passionate, hardworking craft beer enthusiasts. We are currently seeking a new full-time
Marketing & Events Manager to join our team!
Job Summary:
This role is responsible for overseeing all of the marketing and events for Original Pattern.
This includes managing and creating content for all social media platforms (Instagram,
Facebook, eventually Tik Tok), planning and executing on-site events, communicating with
performers about recurring events, writing and releasing a weekly newsletter, creating print
products for advertising purposes (both on-site and off-site at accounts), ordering and
designing new company merchandise, editing and updating the Original Pattern website, and
working closely with the owner, head of sales, and tasting room manager to generate new
marketing strategies. This role has a ton of potential for further growth! This position reports
directly to the owner of the company. This is an in person position, all work is required to be
done on site at our brewery.
Job Requirements:
- At least 1 years of experience in a marketing role
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with an aptitude for relationship building
- Extensive knowledge of major social media platforms: Instagram, Facebook, Tik Tok
- Knowledge of craft beer & the industry’s current trends
- Experience and/or excitement for event planning and execution
- Excellent written communication and creative writing skills (i.e. writing creative copy
- Able to maintain a motivated, proactive, and organized disposition while working
- A do-it-yourself attitude with an aptitude for doing whatever it takes to get the job
- Thrives in a collaborative team environment! Not afraid to contribute new ideas
- Capacity to work flexible hours including some weekends
- Must be at least 21 years of age, authorized to work in California, with reliable
- A passion for beer!
Pluses:
- Experience working at a craft brewery
- Experience working as a social media manager or marketing manager
- High degree of proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop & Illustrator)
- Ability to photograph at a high-quality, professional level
- Experience with Eventbrite, Canva, Mailchimp, and Later (or similar tools)
- Experience with social graphic design and social video editing (i.e. Tik Tok)
- Website editing and design skills (Squarespace or similar)
- A love for Original Pattern beer and the city of Oakland!
Duties and Responsibilities:
Events
- Conceptualize, plan, and execute special events at the brewery
- Communicate with recurring performers (Friday night jazz quartet, monthly comedy
- Book and negotiate pay for new performers
- Create and manage all Eventbrite pages for upcoming events
- Communicate and collaborate with tasting room staff; make a plan for logistical
- Promote events via social media, printed flyers, and the weekly newsletter
Social Media
- Plan out the week’s social media posts, take pictures, write captions, generate
- Create new strategies to grow following on all social media channels (Instagram,
- Respond to comments and questions from followers on all platforms
- Repost relevant stories from customers & collaborating businesses to our IG story
- Like and comment on posts made by other breweries & accounts to maintain Original
- Develop brand guidelines that keep our message consistent across all platforms
Photography/Videography
- Take high-quality photos and videos of new products, events, and behind-the-scenes
- Edit photos and videos to be posted on social media
- Be present at special events to take photos, videos, and upload to IG story in real-time
Graphic Design
- Design new graphics to be used for social media marketing and event promotion
- Create animated graphics using Canva to advertise events, hours, special menu items,
- Work with sales team to create print products that are consistent with our brand
Merchandising
- Collaborate with merch vendors to design new Original Pattern merchandise
- Order merchandise through a variety of vendors (i.e. stickers, t-shirts, hats, pens,
- Keep merchandise stocked and organized in the tasting room
- Maintain POS & merch store inventory
- Inventory new orders as they arrive and inventory entire back stock every 3-4 months
Compensation:
- This is a full-time position
- Compensation based on experience
