AERDF is Hiring a Remote Senior Marketing Manager

Opportunity The Advanced Education Research and Development Fund (AERDF) seeks a Sr. Marketing Manager with demonstrated success in developing creative content across digital channels that strengthens support for PreK-12 or other social impact oriented missions. This is an opportunity to help shape the creative direction of the organization’s public profile and showcase the impact of our Inclusive R&D programs.
You will assume a key role in a maturing startup environment by designing and executing on creative strategies to translate the insights AERDF Inclusive R&D programs deliver into accessible stories for key audiences such as school system leaders, philanthropists, community leaders, entrepreneurs, and policymakers. Specifically, you will evolve and execute on a multi-platform campaign architecture that delivers AERDF insights at various grain sizes, “snacks, meals and feasts” to reach audiences on the organization’s website, through short form video, email and social media. 
All teammates are supported by a recently grown hub of communications and marketing technicians that deliver support on writing, graphic design, and web development. Your role will also work closely with the program teams and other senior leaders to align on AERDF’s overall communications and marketing strategy and individual AERDF programs communications strategies in service of a single organizational brand identity. You will work remotely from anywhere in the U.S but must be able to work on a Central or Eastern time zone schedule.
 

Responsibilities The primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead creative direction for AERDF brand
    • Sharpening the organization’s online brand and improving user experience across all channels. Lead light refresh of organizational brand guideline
    • Maintain and update the organization's website, ensuring it remains current and user-friendly
    • Develop, maintain, and execute on a strategic digital roadmap aligned with organizational goals and strategies.
    • Develop an updated vision for our visual identity, grounded in our values and goals. 
  • Lead the development and execution of AERDF’s digital strategy
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive digital communication strategy that aligns with AERDF’s mission and goals.
    • Manage and oversee the organization's website and social media accounts, including content scheduling, monitoring, and engagement with followers. Support AERDF in reaching 10,000 followers across all channels by the end of 2024.
    • Overseeing an active digital communications calendar across all digital channels (email, social, and websites).
    • Create compelling and engaging content for our website, social media platforms, email newsletters, and other digital channels.
    • Engage AERDF Communications Hub to create high-quality marketing collateral, including brochures, reports, presentations, and promotional materials.
    • Partner with our new development team to manage an active, personalized email communications program.
    • Design and execute effective email marketing campaigns to engage stakeholders and promote events, publications, and research findings
  • Manage analysis of campaign performance to ensure continuous improvement
    • Monitor and analyze the performance of digital communication efforts using analytics tools and partner with the Director of Communications to adjust strategies accordingly.
    • Reporting out of performance indicators, lessons learned to internal and external audiences including AERDF board of directors and donors

What You Will BringSkills, Mindsets & Qualifications

  • Six years of experience in strategic digital communications including:
    • Experience crafting and executing holistic digital strategies with global audiences and goals
    • Experience developing and managing cross-channel calendars
    • Ability to compile and analyze digital engagement metrics
    •  A passion for creating engaging content across all digital channels
    • Experience with web content management (especially WordPress)
    • Real-time social media monitoring and engagement
    • Ability to compile and analyze digital engagement metrics
  • What you’ve accomplished:
    • Demonstrated ability to create and lead the execution of an organization-wide marketing strategy that met or beat its objectives
    • Proven track record working with a diverse range of social and traditional media, including Black and Latino media members; ability to determine the best media type to achieve goals 
  • Skills you have developed and knowledge you have acquired:
    • Personally demonstrated commitment to racial equity and deep experience in organizations and/or client relationships with commitments to racial equity
    • Partnering with colleagues to deliver on compelling stories from the field
    • Ability to understand programmatic work and create and implement communication plans that will promote organizational priorities
    • Excellent vendor/partner management skills
    • Proven communicator; excellent writing/editing and verbal communication skills, including experience in translating scientific research into language accessible for all audiences 
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work on time
    • Strong analytical skills; able to conduct independent analysis, draw conclusions, and make concrete, actionable recommendation
CompensationWe offer a competitive compensation package including base salary and comprehensive benefits. AERDF is a remote and flexible work environment and our base compensation levels vary depending on location, experience, and qualifications. The starting salary offer range for this Level 3 Role is $73,550 and $141,000, based on location.We are deeply committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace. Since AERDF’s launch, its programs – currently focused on math, formative assessment, and reading – have been piloted with more than 20,000 students.
