Onni Group is Hiring a HR Generalist Near Chicago, IL

There is an exciting opportunity for a HR Generalist to join our dynamic and collaborative team! We are looking for a passionate and driven HR Generalist to perform duties at the professional level in the following functional areas: Payroll, Onboarding, and Benefit administration. This position requires an extremely perceptive person who is capable of relating to individuals at all levels within the organization. The Generalist must be sensitive to corporate needs, employee goodwill and the business needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Actively Assists in Payroll Process
  • Assists with Onboarding in Region
  • Administers Employee Benefits
  • Coordinate Benefit Enrollment
  • Assists with Employee Performance Evaluations
  • Monitors Benefit Eligibility
  • Maintains Benefit Files
  • Ensures Wage & Hour Compliance
  • Assists Employees with insurance Claims
  • Coordinates Workers Compensation Claims
  • Ensures I-9 Compliance
  • Assists with Org Charts
  • Administers Cobra
  • Ensure alignment with Onni Offices in other states.
  • Assists with Employee Relations
  • Provides positive employee engagement services
  • Proactively evaluates HR Data
  • Provides Support on HR projects
  • Maintains knowledge of HR best practices and changes to employment law.

Summary of qualifications:

  • Previous experience in HR as a HR Coordinator or HR Generalist.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Business, or related field required.
  • At least three years of professional human resource administration required with experience in labor relations preferred.
  • Current, in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to human resources and employee management, including workers’ compensation, union relations, and federal and state employment laws.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
