Hybrid Work Schedule-4 Days in Office

Salary: $132k-$175k

The Human Resources Director, plans, leads, directs, develops, and coordinates the policies, activities, and staff of the Human Resources (HR) department. This role will ensure legal compliance and effective, efficient implementation of the department’s mission and strategy.

Human Resource Duties:

  • Along with HR management team plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organization’s human resource compliance and strategy needs.
  • Ensure Human Resources programs and initiatives are effective, efficient, and aligned with overall business objectives.
  • Oversee and administer payroll, ensuring accurate and timely processing and nationwide compliance.
  • Plan, direct, and supervise the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale, training, and development.
  • Monitor and ensure the organization’s compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommend best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintain and expand knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; apply your knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to management.
  • Facilitate professional development, training, and certification activities for HR staff.

Managerial Duties:

  • Oversee and manage direct reports. This includes the daily workflow of HR staff, specifically surrounding payroll, leave management, worker’s compensation, annual performance reviews, onboarding, policy and procedure updates, and other assigned areas.
  • Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and training new HR staff when necessary.
  • Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations to direct reports.
  • Assist and/or handle discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Hands-on multistate payroll working with exempt, non-exempt, and commission-based employees.
  • PEO experience a plus
  • Experience transition payroll systems and communicating benefits to senior management.
  • Managing payroll department team.
  • Hands-on employment law experience including ADA interactive process, qualifying FMLA, and managing workers' compensation interactive process.
  • Able to manage and develop human resource team members and be point of contact for expert advice on employment law.
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and, communication skills with the ability to influence and build trusting relationships at all levels.
  • Ability to research, propose and participate in the selection and implementation of new HR systems.
  • Effective project management skills, with demonstrated success in prioritizing multiple priorities and delivering outcomes through own hands-on efforts and through leading others.
  • Strategic thinking, an ability to assess situations in the context of business strategy that translates into execution, action, and results.
  • Flexible and adaptable style; comfortable navigating through ambiguity.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.

Education and Experience:

  • 10 years in people management providing hands-on support, training, and performance reviews.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5 years of human resource management experience required at the Director level.
  • Experience working for an organization with a call center a plus.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Experience in payroll management and administration for complex multi-state payroll environments including exempt and nonexempt employees.
  • Leave management experience, nationwide. (FMLA, Workers Compensation, ADA, etc.)
  • Experience in the handling Workers Compensation Claims

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: Depends on our clients, the salary range and benefit vary for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island or Washington residents is a range $132,000 - $175,000 annually determined by a myriad of factors including, but not limited to, years of experience, depth of experience, and other relevant business considerations. In addition to your salary, our clients offer benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase, and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
