Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Project Associate.
In this role, the successful candidate Position Summary:
The Center for Healthcare Innovation & Delivery Science, in the Department of Population Health at NYU School of Medicine seeks a Project Associate to work on two projects. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to develop their skills in both health policy and health services research and evaluation, and will build experience relevant to roles in think tanks, government, healthcare consulting, and health services research.

Half the role is for CHIDS rapid RCT lab, a nationally-leading team conducting innovative, rapid RCTs to improve the delivery of services at the hospital frontline; the second half is a partnership with the leading think tank the Commonwealth Fund on international health policy developments with a focus on AI and long-COVID. The time will be split roughly evenly between the two projects and both projects report to the same program manager.

RapidRCT team project summary
The Rapid RCT lab, led by Leora Horwitz, MD, MHS aims to transform NYU Langone into a learning healthcare system by using rapid cycle randomized controlled trials to test simple, pragmatic ideas. Already, we have learned that post-discharge telephone calls made no difference to rates of readmission; that our community health worker program was inadvertently targeting patients who were unlikely to benefit; and that changing the text of a tobacco cessation prompt can significantly increase prescriptions.

The PA would join this team at an exciting time, as we work to identify new strategies, experiments, and ideas from across our healthcare system, as well as beginning to consider how to expand our offer, working more creatively within NYU Langone, and partnering with other institutions. The PAs role would be to support on project scoping and design; leading literature reviews and data identification; supporting with results dissemination and paper drafting; and supporting the project coordinator with administrative tasks.

International health policy research project summary
The Division of Healthcare Science is leading a Commonwealth Fund initiative to support the Funds international health policy team in keeping up to date with major international developments, as well as to deliver two focused briefings on international approaches to the regulation of AI in health, and in managing long-COVID.

The project is a high-profile grant, and the PA will have the opportunity to work with senior leadership at the Fund, as well as international health policy experts through their work to convene policy discussions and roundtables. The project will be led by Holly Krelle Program Manager at NYU Langone, Senior Fellow at the Commonwealth Fund and previously advisor to the U.K. Prime Minister. There will be opportunities to undertake some qualitative research, drafting of briefings and blogs, and organising and contributing to high-level international presentations and policy discussions.
