Summary

The Forensics Project Associate will assist project managers in a wide variety of forensic investigation and physical conditions assessment projects. They will conduct site inspections, utilize technology and investigative tools, and assess code compliance to gather information and diagnose issues. Qualified candidates will; have an architecture or engineering background, will be able to manage individual work load, negotiate competing priorities, have a basic understanding of common construction materials, display effective verbal and written communication skills, and exhibit curiosity for existing building construction.

3 years of experience. MEP, Structural, or Architectural education/experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Apply sound and diverse knowledge in architecture principles and practices in a broad array of assignments.
  • Based on knowledge of current and historic construction types, materials, and products used within New York City; select, evaluate and implement procedures and techniques to be used on projects independently and/or under the guidance of the project manager.
  • Write and present technical letters, reports, and proposals in clear articulate language.
  • Perform and/or oversee performance of building site inspections.
  • Maintain positive client relationships. Manage; client budgets, schedules and programs, project communication and documentation, office administrative tasks, independently and/or under the guidance of the project manager.
  • Keep current on building codes governing New York City. Awareness of historic building codes.
  • Actively participate in a teamwork environment.
  • Effectively manage time to perform work duties in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • An Employee can expect to be “in field” between 25% - 75% of their time during any given week.
