The Nueces Center for Mental Health and Intellectual Disabilities (MHID) is dedicated to helping the residents of Nueces County who are living with mental illness and/or intellectual and developmental disabilities. We serve over 10,000 people each year with psychiatric and behavioral health care outpatient services, counseling, training, employment assistance, housing support, homeless outreach, children's mental health care and more.

Salary: "Please note that the job posting rate for this position is $50,050.05 to $55,491.39, the salary offered will follow the starting salary guidelines which are typically made at or near the minimum of the salary range. However, a salary may be negotiated above the minimum range depending on applicable years of experience and qualifications."

Full-Time, 40 Hour Work Week, Paid Bi-weekly

General Description

Under supervision of the Director Resiliency and Recovery Services.Supervises the Jail Diversion Unit and the Psychosocial RehabilitationUnit. In the Jail Diversion unit, workswith the forensic case management and intensive rehabilitation services foreligible persons with a mental illness and/or co-occurring disorder who arebeing diverted from incarceration in the Jail. Maintains open communicationwith the District Attorney's office, communicates directly with in-house Jailpersonnel, Crisis intervention Team Members and Mobile Crisis Outreach teammembers to ensure individuals served gain access to psychiatric, substanceabuse, medical, social, vocational, and other services and supports.

In both units, the responsibilities include, clinical oversight of staffassigned to program. Responsible forauditing clinical files for quality and ensures compliance with servicedocumentation and quality standards. Provides assistance to case management staff and consultation for crisisservices and consumer care. Duties also include maintaining positive budgetvariance, operational oversight, and supervision of MH adult staff. Providesboth administrative and direct care. Supervises the quality of work provided by clinical and clerical staff.

Job may require travel, flexible hours and a work cell phone. Works undermoderate supervision with considerable allowances for initiative andindependent judgement. Responsible formanaging the quality standards for building safety codes, consumer care,billable services, and budgeting program development. Assures state and agency program targets aremet. Maintains compliance in qualitystandards as required by Joint Commission, Medicaid, the OPM, and HHSC. Engages in community education as needed. 

Minimum Qualifications

A minimum of a bachelor's or advanced degreefrom an accredited college or university with a major in a social, behavioral,or human service field including, but not limited to, psychology, social work,medicine, nursing, rehabilitation, counseling, sociology, human development,gerontology, educational psychology, and education.

3 or more years' experience in behavioralhealth services.

Preferred: 2 or more yearssupervisory experience in behavioral health

  • Inthe course of being employed, understands and implements trauma informed carepractices.
  • Musthave reliable transportation. May use personal vehicle to conduct business.Must have a valid driver's license at all times, liability insurance and a gooddriving record.
