nt4kids.org is Hiring a Human Resource Assistant (PT) Near Canby, OR

The Human Resource Assistant will report to the HR manager and work closely with human resources to plan and implement activities to foster employee relationship building. Assist the human resources manager in everyday tasks.
Reports to: Human Resource Manager
Position: Part-time: 20-24 hours per week
Location(s): Canby
Salary: $22.00-25.00 DOE
FLSA: non-exempt

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Responsibilities include assisting with recruiting, screening resumes and scheduling interviews
  • On-boarding and off-boarding employees 
  • Assist with benefits administration and tracking
  • Supporting positive employee relations.
  • Safety is also a key focus for the HR Assistant by supporting training on company safety policies and procedures and emphasizing a culture of safety
  • This position will also serve as a backup for Paycor duties in the absence of the HR Manager.
  • Duties of the HR Assistant include providing support to our managers and employees, assisting in daily office needs and managing our company’s general administrative activities
Recruitment, Onboarding, HRIS and Retention:
  • PayCor support and backup administrator
  • Assist in maintaining personnel files and sensitive private information
  • Assist HR manager with staying current on state and federal employment laws
  • Prepare weekly newsletter
  • Maintain CPR certification for all providers. Schedule group classes when needed.
  • Assist with job postings, and provides input on strategies to reach a broad and diverse candidate pool.
  • Check Resume email regularly, assist with reviewing resumes, and respond to applicants as appropriate.
  • Organize interviews with potential candidates and interviewers. Provide interview questions as needed.
  • Assist with onboarding new employees, including making new employee packets.
  • Run OIG and SAM report at time of hire. Then run monthly reports on all employees
  • Follow up with new employees after 3 and 6 months of employment with a satisfaction survey
  • Keep job descriptions up to date, create new job descriptions where applicable
  • Track annual reviews for employees, and support supervisors in completing reviews by sending an email with the employee's name due for review and attach the form and job description.
  • Assist in the implementation of policies, procedures, goals and objectives to foster an inclusive and welcoming work environment for all. 
  • Complete yearly I-9 Audits to check for errors and remove outdated forms
  • Send out yearly compliance to all employees, track responses and follow up
  • Assist with employee Open enrollment and tracking
  • Update policy and procedure forms, onboarding checklists, mental health notebooks etc. as requested.
  • Responsible for distribution and tracking of all office keys.
  • Maintain and track the laptop distribution to employees, as well as providing new equipment when needed. 
  • Participate in monthly Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA) team meetings, and bring recommendations for improvement to the HR Manager or other leadership as appropriate. 
  • Pick an employee to spotlight at least once a month, email employee questions to answer, post employee spotlight through Paycor.
  • Organize social engagements
  • Help resolve issues and foster a positive work environment.
  • Assist with annual assessments and surveys related to employee satisfaction, culture, and equity to support employee retention, policy development, and a supportive work environment. 
  • Assist the HR Manager and other employees on personnel issues involving diversity, equity, and inclusion. 
  • Assist the HR Manager on complex employee and labor relations issues that involve DEI concepts in general.
  • Other duties, tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Ability to prioritize projects and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Motivated self-starter, highly detail-oriented, with great work ethic
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with people from a broad range of backgrounds and life experiences.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in current DEI best practices and trends, including familiarity with key concepts (e.g. racial equity, cultural humility and responsiveness, intersectionality of identities, unconscious bias).
  • Ensuring consistency and fairness in policy and procedure
Education and Experience
  • 1 year human resource clerical support experience 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite
  • Office/customer service experience
  • Google Workspace Suite knowledge
  • Canva experience
  • Preferred experience: Engagement in DEI-related work or training in a professional or academic setting
