We are seeking an experienced Accountant to oversee the accounting functions in the role of Controller. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills with extensive knowledge of payroll and benefits as we run full in-house payroll. NRI is a privately, locally owned staffing firm who values a detailed oriented accounting professional with overall experience with all aspects of accounting.

Controller Roles & Responsibilities

• Supervise accounting staff
• Issue Financial Statements
  • Review monthly account reconciliations
  • Review prepared financial statements
  • Analyze budget variances
• Prepare annual budget by establishing schedules, collecting, and analyzing, data, and recommending a plan
• Assess internal controls, including risk assessments and reviews of risk areas
• Establish financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems.
• Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
• Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
• Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance
• Monitor cash and funding balances
• Maintain business licenses and annual business filings
• Respond to information requests
• All other duties as assigned
